1) Secure first blue, probably win.
2) Lose first blue, probably lose.

Actually as you think of it it's always safer to invade, even if the enemy is doing it aswell.

Not if your team has an AOE team comp like Vlad, Kennen, Sona, Ashe & Amumu. That shizz is lame to play against. If your team doesn't have Maokai.

i find going wriggle/sorc/ rilay/rabadon/zhonya/abyssal to be pretty good on amumu, try to AA before using all your abilities,55 MR reduction is nice (+20 abyssal)
usual jungle runes and flat AP quints

The other items are pretty decent, but because Amumu is melee, go for tanky AP. I've never done full AP-tanky Amumu, only Amumu with some AP, but you'll need some sort of mana regen, because he's usually jungling because he needs blue buff to spam W and E, so maybe a Chalice? or early Cata? RoA would probably be nice for his mana, Abyssal is godly (stacks with passive, and he used to have no scaling MR), then Rylai's for sticking to people and tankiness.

No. Amumu is manly build AP lately as there's better Utility tank, Naut, Sejuani, But do to Amumu's high saclings and good initiate he's devastating as a CC grenade.

this godmode ammumu build: Merc treads, Sunfire cloak, aegis, abyssal scepter, Guardian angel, and thornmail/warmongs/Randuins Omen/Frzn Heart. any changes?

I build him: bots, aegis, warmong, raduin and match is finished. Maybe a Force of Nature but i dont think you need so much mr or Guardian Angel if you need both armor and mr. One time i put a chalice for mana + mr.

I've always liked Merc Treads, philo, aegis and then whatever I need from there. I tend to go to Frozen Heart then shurelias most of the time though.

Thornmail is a shit item, don't ever buy it.
Aegis is good, Randuins and Frozen HEart are good. You need 40% CDR on Amumu, though.

Thornmail has its uses if literally every enemy champ on the enemy team is an AD champ, you already have 40% CDR, and there's at least 2 randuins and 1 Frozen Heart on your team.

so what about a sort of attack speed amumu? like sorc shoes, wits end, malady, blood razor, sunfire cloak, phantom dancer. unless my math is off at max build it would be just over 2 attacks per second. i know there is faster but i was thinking good magic pen on top of his % based despair and % based BR with the bonus magic damage from the other items and lowered MR from his passive and malady and sorc shoes that he might could some good damage while being slightly tankier than other attack speed champs like, say, Fiora. Coupled with his CC and good initiation i wonder if this would work. Not for ranked play, per say, where he is not allowed to not jungle, but just for funzies. anyone?
(my math on the attacks per second was slightly rounded but should be like RIGHT at 2.0 without runes or masteries)

no to the thornmail? yeah i kinda agree just that it's too niche. but totally we got something goin here. cause it's just for funzies. people here seem incapable of doing things for funzies. they like to not do fun things but instead turn the game into work with meta game and min/maxing.

Thornmail is currently one of the worst tanky items. It is easily countered by any kind of lifesteal. The tanky items are meant to lower the damage that comes from the enemy. Frozen Heart and Randuins help you reduce the damage from the enemies a lot more, as their attack speed is lowered. This way they are actually harmed a lot more than by the thornmail, because they are no longer as scary. Thornmail does nothing to an AD carry at the moment. It would need a buff to be effective, as a Vamp Scepter (for less than 500g...) counters its passive.

let's take a a carry AD : berzerk boots/PD/IE/BT/offensive item 4/defensive item (banshee or GA)
if the 4th is a not a BT you nullify the lifesteal, thats HUGE.

Thornmail is tied for shittiest defense item in the game, right at the bottom with Sunfire Cape. It doesn't actually matter if you counter lifesteal. It doesn't. Because the AD Carry is still doing 100% of their damage out. Randuins Omen and Frozen Heart are the only way to actually REDUCE AD Carry damage.

Full AP Amumu can nuke every champion - His 2 stun combo (Q + R) with it's high ratios + his 2 spam skills (W + E) makes him impossible to defeat, even if he get ganked.

what about this build? 5x rabadon and void staff? if you manage to pull yourself well it could be a pentakill just from the ult!

Any AP carry could pentakill with that build (save leblanc). The problem is you'll never farm it in a normal game.

why would you buy a void staff? on amumu? not too sure but with Mpen runes and sorc boots + an AA you hit with 30Mpen and 35 MR reduction, don't go for the tank stay enar with aura but i don't see anyone not tank getting enough MR to make void staff better then abyssal on amumu and in most games you won't even need boots and can buy merc (thats what i do , with abyssal + an AA i hit -55 so i deal more then true damage with my runes on most champs, might only be me but when i engage rather then q to someone i AA then Q point blank range unless to catch a half dead person, passing on 35 reduction to MR is just a bad idea with 1.0 AP ratio

Guys I usually jungle Amumu, but he is so squishy. I generally start with cloth armor and 5 health pots, and unless i get a really good leash at blue I have to b after the golems or red buff, causing me to be at least two levels behind everyone all game. Any suggestions on how to better my jungling and keep up with everyone else?

If you make it all the way through red buff then you did pretty well. Junglers are almost always underlvl compared to lanes, comes with the job. But survivability runes and masteries are infinitly helpful early on

what i do is that i get a leash on blue and go one but what end up doing is that i only use 1 pot for blue and 1 pot after woles. then do the 4 small camp and then i go to the small golem camp i use all my pots till i only have 1 left. i then kill it and start on red. not do not kill the small min pull red out in the brush to that small one keep attacking u this way u can easly spam ur lv 2 E. then i do the other 2 small camps. i end doing it so fast that when u go i go to the small golem since after that ur blue will run out other camp are eaier.
If enemy is smart. then go the small camp of 4 do that and the big golem. go back and get the mana part of the 5 for gold item stone. and just run thought ur jungle once after that build ur 5 for gold item first don;t rush ur boots u will not be ganking till lv 6 since ammumu get really set back. and if u gank and the gank is not succeful then that is it for u. after that get boots and 1 heart of gold.

I start him regrowth, with 0-21-9 masteries he can make the jungle almost full hp with just a pull at blue (if you get a real good one you can even keep the pot) and go ganking afterwards. Also, don't push to get golems, after wraiths go back for wolves, then red, wraiths and wolves again (gets you up to 4). Golems are his hardest small camp, since he spams E less and doesn't block so much damage either.

In the PBE match, the reduced the CD of his ulti by 20seconds at each rank, and gave him mr/lvl.

i only pick him if the other jungler is like alistar, rammus, shen. do not pick him agaist mondo or shyvanna. since those champ can clear thier jungler and conter jungler easy. try not ganking too much not more then 2 times till u get ur ult. and don't gank or communicate with team member that your ult is down and u will come when its up.

Best suited for a tank: Amumu or Garen? I mean Amums got 2 CC and 1 AOE, but he move slow. Garen move fast, he his passive which can regen health, but no CC beside silence.

Amumu. Garen's passive only works when he did not get hit for 7 secs, and his dmg late game is barely noticeable. Amumu works better in team fight.

Do any other Amumu players feel like the Bandage Toss mechanics are a little buggy? There are times when the toss goes right by a champ yet doesn't land, or there's a minion about a hundred pixels to the side of a champ and it prioritizes the minion regardless...almost like theres a one pixel box you have to hit for the champ and a 100 pixel box for a minion. Am I alone in this? Also...a 16sec cooldown at Lv 1? I feel like I have to go jungle some more before retrying a failed toss...

this +0.01% AP on Despair is incorrect is incorrect. "+.01" or "+1%" would be accurate as stating +.01% actually makes it so he gets a 1% bonus per 10,000 AP or .01% bonus per 100 AP.

I dont prefer to jungle with amumu. I like to play as a support bot with ad range ad carry(not every time tho :(.) Going with my summoner heal and tele or ghost. The presure of me being in lane with that stun will strike fear into them or should i say sadness. Playing as a supportive meat shield with a stun and a aoe that is reduced one sec every time ur hit! Now that is :3 + easy stunes(105/A) = :) = feed ad carrie = win = another :) and the being divided into a "hey i had this great game with amumu." I will say this also harras is a pain but :) ur amumu(thats if u play him.)

Amumu is a fucking terrible support. His mana pool is terrible and he's almost useless with no farm lategame. Sure, he has a good ult. Then he's instantly dead. Every other support provides more to lategame with a support's cash.

Crap idea.. AD carry will not get any heals / buffs / auras (magic resist reduction is useless for AD carry).. enemies will stay behind minions and you cant stun them... hes Jungler

if you wanna support amumu, might as well be leona. i love both amumu and leona, but leona is much better as a support as her spells have the same effects but are much cheaper and have sunlight procs with your team mate, while amumu has a rather bad early game and should be farming the jungle to kill everything lategame.
