- Annie derives from Hebrew חַנָּה Ḥannāh, from Semitic root ḥ-n-n "grace", shared with .
- Her family name Hastur references Ambrose Bierce's pastoral deity, borrowed into Cthulhu Mythos as a Great Old One.
- Annie & Tibbers references the folk-tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
- Her fire powers and bear-themed clothing might have been inspired by Frederica Tenjuin from Psyren.
- Annie received an early visual update in the Philippine server, including everything but new artwork.
