History[]

The client replaces the PVP.net client that originally released with the game, aiming to supplant in terms of technology and visuals as well as establishing a scalable platform to build features for years to come. Since then, the client has garnered notoriety for the myriad of performance issues that plagued almost every aspect of the client, which was especially felt on older machines that the game was designed to run on.

In 2020, a campaign to "fix the client" began to address various overarching problems in the client's normal functions, chiefly by reconsolidating the program to run more efficiently, and therefore much faster.

See also: Clubs, a social feature on the client that was removed at the end of season 10.
