Rage Gene

GnarSquare Mini Gnar: While in Mini Gnar form, he gains bonus Movement speed icon movement speed, attack range, attack speed and attack speed growth.

Innate: Mini Gnar generates 4 / 7 / 11 Rage Gene Rage over 2 seconds upon dealing or receiving damage. Against non-champions, basic attacks and Boomerang Throw Boomerang Throw instantly generate 0.5 / 0.875 / 1.375 Rage. Against champions, Boomerang Throw Boomerang Throw instantly generates 1 / 1.75 / 2.75 Rage, and basic attacks instantly generate 2 / 3.5 / 5.5. Boomerang Throw Boomerang Throw can only generate Rage once per cast, and grants Rage based on the first enemy hit. Gnar's Rage decays if he has not dealt or taken damage in the last 13 seconds.

Rage Gene 2

At maximum Rage Gene 2 Rage, casting an ability or after 4 seconds will Rage Gene 3 transform him into Gnar MegaSquare Mega Gnar for 15 seconds, during which Gnar's Rage depletes. Afterwards Gnar returns to Mini Gnar and is too Rage Gene 4 tired to generate Rage for 15 seconds. Gnar retains his current percentage health when he returns to Mini Gnar.

Rage Gene 3

Gnar MegaSquare Mega Gnar: Mega Gnar has different abilities, although they share Mini Gnar's ability cooldowns. While in Mega Gnar form, he loses all Mini Gnar's buffs and instead has increased base AD, base health, base armor, and base magic resistance. Gnar restores health equal to the increase.

  • The Rage generated upon dealing or receiving damage occurs over 2 seconds with 4 ticks every 0.5 seconds. It also does not stack but instead refreshes with subsequent applications (of dealing or receiving damage).
  • The bonus rage generation on basic attacks counts as an on-hit effect, and is triggered by Runaan's Hurricane item Runaan's Hurricane and Guinsoo's Rageblade item Guinsoo's Rageblade.
  • Against non-champions, basic attacks and Boomerang Throw Boomerang Throw instantly generate 12.5% of the Rage over time. While, against champions, Boomerang Throw Boomerang Throw instantly generates 25%, and basic attacks 50%.
  • In-game, the value on the Rage bar always displays rounded down to the nearest integer.
  • Gnar MegaSquare Mega Gnar's gained health is not affected by Grievous Wounds icon Grievous Wounds or increased healing from items and runes.
  • When returning to GnarSquare Mini Gnar, Gnar will only retain his current health percentage, not current health total.
    • This is intentional to prevent Gnar from simply triggering Rage Gene in order to heal himself over time.
  • Gnar's abilities share cooldowns across forms.
  • The final stats, after Rage Gene being applied, can be seen on Gnar and Mega Gnar respective data template, in the front page.
    • Mini Gnar gains 5.5% - 99% (based on level) bonus attack speed, on top of his base attack speed growth of 0.5%.
    • Mega Gnar gains 100 - 831 (based on level) base health, 3.5 - 38 (based on level) base armor, 3.5 - 29 (based on level) base magic resistance, and 6 - 48.5 (based on level) base attack damage.

Boomerang Throw

GnarSquare Mini Gnar - Active: Gnar throws a boomerang forward in a line that deals physical damage and Slow icon slows enemies for 2 seconds. The boomerang returns towards Gnar in a fixed line after reaching its maximum range or hitting an enemy, dealing 50% damage to subsequent targets. Each enemy can only be hit once. Catching the boomerang reduces its Cooldown reduction icon cooldown by 40%.

  • The bonus cooldown reduction is calculated the moment the boomerang is used and not when it's retrieved.
  • The boomerang return direction is determined by which direction Gnar is heading, similair to DravenSquare Draven's Spinning Axe Spinning Axe, and is calculated at the apex of its flight.
  • Since the cooldown between the two is shared Mini Gnar may pick up a boulder and/or Mega Gnar may catch a boomerang.
  • Boulder Toss has a projectile speed of 2100, which is faster than Boomerang Throw's 1400 projectile speed.
  • Using Boomerang Throw during Hop Hop will cause the boomerang to travel 1100 units from the destination where Gnar jumped.
    • As a result the boomerang animation glitches slightly in height.
  • Gnar is locked out of picking up his boulder for 0.3 seconds after throwing it.
  • The Boomerang Throw Boomerang will disappear however, the Boulder Toss Boulder will stop if colliding with Wind Wall Wind Wall or Unbreakable Unbreakable.

GnarSquare Mini Gnar - Passive: Every Hyper 2 third attack or ability on the same target within 3.5 seconds deals bonus magic damage (capped against monsters) and grants Gnar 30 / 45 / 60 / 75% bonus movement speed that decays over 3 seconds.

Gnar can pick up the boulder by moving within 90 units of it, reducing Boulder Toss' Cooldown reduction icon cooldown by 60%.
