  • Mafia Graves

  • Graves was designed by FeralPony.
  • Graves is voiced by Kyle Hebert, Who also voices Ezreal Ezreal and Jarvan IV Jarvan IV.
  • Graves was an answer for all the forum threads calling for a "manly" ranged carry before his release.
  • Graves' concept is greatly inspired from the American Wild West and the Western genre.
    • His passive, True Grit.png True Grit, is a reference to a book and two movie adaptations (One in 1969 and the other in 2010) by the same name.
  • Graves' full name is Malcolm Graves.
  • Graves was mentioned in the Journal of Justice: Issue 29, where he reportedly escaped from a secret prison owned by CEO Dr. Priggs, who is later seen held at gunpoint in Graves' teaser.
    • Graves named his shotgun "Destiny", which is the name of Twisted Fate's Destiny.png ultimate.
  • In Act 3 of Burning Tides, it has been revealed that Graves Graves mother was dead for 5 years before the events of Burning Tides.
    • Twisted Fate and Graves previously had a crew, all of whom died when they and Twisted Fate tried to save Graves. Some of their names were Kolt, Wallach and The Brick.
  • Graves lost his old gun, Destiny, during the events of Burning Tide.
  • He has a new gun, named New Destiny (which is also the name of his passive).
  • Graves' jokes are related to gallows humor, or humor that involve being funny in the face of, and in response to, a perfectly hopeless situation.
  • Graves' dance references from the cowboy dance during a country show. A direct side-by-side comparison can be seen here.
  • Graves is the second-to-last champion to have a League Judgement; the feature was discontinued after his release, but Varus Varus received a Judgement as part of his promotional material by Penny Arcade.
  • When Graves is about to crit, his weapon has extra recoil making his gun shoot up into the air out of his left hand.
  • The poncho Graves wears in his classic version is likely a reference to the "Man with no name"; an iconic movie hero appearing in a trilogy of classic spaghetti westerns ("The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" being the most notable).
  • Graves' gun can be seen in the video for the Mac Version launch for League of Legends.
  • If an enemy Nocturne Nocturne is hit by his Smoke Screen.png Smokescreen, Graves will say "I've got your darkness." or "Who's in the dark now?".
  • Graves' quote "I ain't got time to bleed." is a direct reference to the movie Predator[1] .
  • The quote "Knock, knock." when Graves fires a Smoke Screen.png Smokescreen is also a reference Predator[2] .
  • Graves' quote "Dead man walkin." is a reference to the prison slang used for a prisoner's last walk to the execution chamber.
  • Graves' quote "Feelin' lucky?" is probably a homage to Clint Eastwood, the actor who portrayed the aforementioned hero. The line "Do you feel lucky, punk? Well do ya?" is Clint Eastwood's most famous line.
  • In the Polish client, after using Smoke Screen.png Smokescreen, he says "Ciemność widzę" (I see darkness), which is a reference to "Seksmisja" from 1983. Also his joke "Zawsze sikasz przez zapięty rozporek?" (You always pee with slit closed?) is from the movie Kiler. The interesting thing is, both quotes are said by Jerzy Stuhr.
    • Also his quote "W imię zasad" (In the name of the rules) and "Co Ty wiesz o zabijaniu?" (What do you know about killing people?) is a reference to Franz Maurer from the movie Psy from 1992. Both quotes are known to be said by Bogusław Linda.
    • Another quote in the Polish client is "Wyrwałem chwasta" ("I pulled out the weed" meaning he killed someone for being bad) is a reference to the sequel of Psy said by an unnamed character at the very beginning of the movie.
GravesSquare.png Classic Graves [S|L]
  • The background location in his splash art is Bilgewater.
  • Previously, his splash art portrayed him smoking a cigarette. It was removed a few patches later due to regional censorship.[3]
GravesSquare.png Hired Gun Graves [S|L]
  • Hired Gun Graves skin has a bear paw on his back, which can be a possible reference to Blackwater, a US military contractor. It also seems to be a reference to the game Duke Nukem.
  • Hired Gun Graves shares the Hired Gun theme with LucianSquare.png Lucian.
GravesSquare.png Riot Graves [S|L]
GravesSquare.png Jailbreak Graves [S|L]
  • Jailbreak Graves is a reference to his lore, when he escaped the prison.
  • It may also be a reference to Starcraft.
  • He resembles Bulletstorm's main protagonist Grayson Hunt.
GravesSquare.png Mafia Graves [S|L]
GravesSquare.png Pool Party Graves [S|L]
GravesSquare.png Cutthroat Graves [S|L]
  • This skin depicts both young Graves Graves and young Twisted Fate Twisted Fate as they were before they split apart.
  • He shares this theme with TwistedFateSquare.png Twisted Fate (Bilgewater Cut Squad).

  • Twisted Fate Twisted Fate and Graves Graves were once partners in crime, and are well-known throughout Valoran for their acts. This partnership ended when Twisted Fate abandoned Graves during a failed heist, believing that the situation was going south. Graves insisted that TF back him up, but Twisted Fate suggested they retreat.
    • After escaping imprisonment, Graves had sought to "even the score" with Twisted Fate.
      • After the events of Burning Tides, Twisted Fate and Graves have rekindled their friendship. Graves also admitted that TF was justified in abandoning him on the previous occasion, although he warns him that in exchange for listening to TF in the future, he expects TF to never abandon him again... or else.
