Mineko Charat Lucky (Talk - Contribs - Logs - Block/rights log) (Back to requests for permissions - Grant rights - Edit count)

I, User:Mineko Charat Lucky, nominate myself for Chat Moderator. I am constantly active on chat, does my responsibility as a chat mod dutifully in the past, and have yet to accrue any infractions so far. Mineko Charat Lucky (talk) 01:33, December 24, 2013 (UTC)

  1. Support Support — Level-headed, shows initiative and is willing to rise up to his responsibilities. Also, Demise is the only other user with CMod rights in this timezone. Would be preferable to have a second. 20px-1445357.png LionsLight(talk) 02:32, December 24, 2013 (UTC)
  2. Support Support — He's good at working with the "common folk", is pretty active, can take the initiative when a sh*tstorm approaches and, as far as I could observe in the last 6 months I've been regularely visiting the chat, has shown that he can be reasonably criticized. It was comforting to have him in chat when he had the star because he was a pretty good CMod all the time I've been in chat. SirAston (talk) 15:59, December 26, 2013 (UTC)
  3. Support Support — Mineko was the guy who made me feel welcome when I first visited the chatroom and is still doing it to the day. He's equally friendly to both seasoned and new users and is appropriately quick to react to trolling, insulting and heated situations. Not to mention his stable activity. If anyone deserves to cmod, it's him. Feirund (talk) 18:23, December 29, 2013 (UTC)Feirund.
Delete Delete — In the times I have been in chat, he has been friendly and welcoming to other users. I may go neutral because of the lack of chat regulation per the log. Otherwise, I see no reason why not.  Technology Wizard  Talk  Contribs  01:35, December 24, 2013 (UTC)
4. Support Support — Right now to my knowledge i'm the only non admin or  higher Cmod in this place, which leaves the chat at times with no one to moderate, mineko is certainly active a lot, and i believe he can take care of this job just fine. ( and we really need to get some more Cmods up here... ) Yours Sincerely, Bloodstrider~ (Talk~ ) 15:57, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

  1. Neutral Neutral — I'm not in chat enough to have a strong opinion either way.  NeonSpotlight  Talk  Contribs  04:59, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
  2. Neutral Neutral — the same as Neon. I wish I have been on more within the past month, so I can't really voice a strong opinion ClariS (talk) 06:22, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
  3. Neutral Neutral — I decided to go neutral because of the lack of moderation as seen in this user's chat ban log. Also, per Ilkcs in chat and Neon's vote above, I'm not around in chat too often to really favor either side.  Technology Wizard  Talk  Contribs  05:18, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

  1. Oppose Oppose — Needs a lot of work on emotional/personal hardiness first. I'm of the opinion that you don't have the right attitude towards people in chat, specifically those that annoy you personally. ~ Demise101 ♥ Lets Talk! ♥ Blogs! ~ 01:58, December 24, 2013 (UTC)
  2. Oppose Oppose — I think that your first comment here shows that you can't handle situations with maturity and tact as much as an effective cmod would need to. I also thought the point of the purge was to increase cmod and mod quality. I just don't see cmod quality here. RadarMatt (talk) 05:12, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
  3. Oppose Oppose — I don't think he's prepared to fully deal with people in chat yet, that's just my ten cents. アカリ, The Fist of Shadow (talk) 06:26, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

  • Comment Comment — My apologies if I gave Demise a bad impression quite recently, however I was amazed that instead of giving trolls warnings, you're tagging along instead. Mineko Charat Lucky (talk) 16:09, December 24, 2013 (UTC)
    • He told you to shut up; before then, you were perfectly amicable with him, discussing chemistry. Afterwards, you called him an idiot and told me to block him, even though he had said nothing that was remotely against the rules. I believe he talked about me, a game and then something about his job. The point of this is that he asked you to stop talking about a subject abruptly, then you wanted him to shut up afterwards by calling him out as a troll. I don't think it's right to have that kind of attitude towards people, particularly as a chat mod. ~ Demise101 @ Talk! @ Contribs! ~ 04:43, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
    • You did not understand the situation at all. These are two separate matters with a 20-minute gap between. Yes, he told me to shut up in the middle of my explanation when he's the one requesting it. I am mildly annoyed at that point, so I remarked him to "wash his mouth". Which later, I left to do some errands and fetch someone from the train station. When I got back, you were arguing and playing along with said person who's clearly talking about nonsense, so I suggested you to kick him as it's against the rules, but because of the previous small incident you have to conclude I'm doing it out of vengeance, which is just absurd, considering from what I heard from other people said person is swearing offensively after I left for a short while. I really hope you are not coloring me wrongly just because of this one misunderstanding, and especially how inactive you were for the first half of 2013 and never really knew who I really am. Had I been misusing my rights from the start of end of last year, you wouldn't be the only person who thinks that way. Mineko Charat Lucky (talk) 06:39, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
      • I'm sure that not everyone you dislike is a troll. RadarMatt (talk) 06:56, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
      • Demise, basing your evaluation of the nominee on a single incident is hardly proper conduct. Feirund (talk) 18:33, December 29, 2013 (UTC)Feirund.
  • Comment Comment — I suppose I might as well point out that we are in a bad need for CMods right now, with prolonged periods of time when the chat is left completely unsupervised and vulnerable to harassment. Besides, it's not like you can't revoke a CMod's status later on, should the need arise. Feirund (talk) 15:41, January 4, 2014 (UTC)
  • Comment Comment — Re: Technology Wizard's point of lack of use of Chat bans implemented - The primary role of the Chat Moderator is to mediate, rather than punish when compared to the anti-vandalism role Moderators have. 20px-1445357.png LionsLight(talk) 06:44, December 26, 2013 (UTC)
    • Maybe he means a lack of practical experience like using the tools effectively. Knowing when to use them and when not. RadarMatt (talk) 06:55, December 26, 2013 (UTC)
      • Just wanted to drop off the log here. I mostly mean what Radar mentioned - the lack of practical experience of using the tools. Either way, I'm not around often enough to choose a side.  Technology Wizard  Talk  Contribs  06:58, December 26, 2013 (UTC)
        • What does this log prove? Am I expected to ban a minimum of 3 users a day? It does not show anything except chat bans, and I have no idea what tools does a chat mod have other than Kick and Ban in chat. Mineko Charat Lucky (talk) 03:00, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
    • Agree completely with Lions. Ban/kick should only be used on particularly troublesome users, in extreme cases when the situation demands it, as opposed to regular usage. — TehAnonymous Avatar TehAnonymous <3 19:31, December 29, 2013 (UTC)
      • I think it's just surprise that over the duration of the time that Mineko has had cmod rights and that he hasn't used the tools at least a little bit more often considering the volume of people that we have regularly violating chat rules. RadarMatt (talk) 17:06, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
        • Because obviously I have to stay awake like a server and monitor the chat 24-7 and obviously the chat is loaded with dozens of vandals spamming porn and shock links every single day. I don't feel this method of nitpicking is being fair to me, considering 2 other users have been nominated and given chat moderator rights while doing just as much work as I have. Mineko Charat Lucky (talk) 05:42, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
          • I think this inability to handle legitimate criticism says a lot about how you will handle the rights again. From my experience, we tend to have a lot of chat rule-breaking compared to other wikis so there's that as well. I don't think the other two users that you seem to be talking about have anything to do with this as well, considering that precedent does not mean very much it seems. RadarMatt (talk) 06:22, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

Closing Statement

  • Not done - No consensus to make Mineko a chat moderator. Ajraddatz (Talk) 18:57, January 5, 2014 (UTC)
