  • In the Chinese version, his name is written as 李青 (Mandarin: Lǐ Qīng).
    • 李 is a common Chinese surname meaning "plum" < Old Chinese rəʔ[3] 
      • also borrowed into Korean (Northern eumhun: Ri 리, Southern: I 이) & Vietnamese (Lí / Lý).
    • 青 means "green," the color of living trees' leaves, < Sino-Tibetan *k-siŋ < *sriŋ "to live".[4]
  • The official Riot's pronunciation /li: sɪn/ sounds similar to listen /ˈlɪsən/, yet not exactly homophonic.
  • In the Founding Interns of League of Legends YouTube video uploaded by the Riot Games Channel, concept art for Lee Sin was shown to depict him with a straw hat and a staff along with an overall wildly different design. He was also called 'Xizun', which appears to be a homonym for 'season'.

    • His appearance resembles Daniel Rand from the TV Show Iron Fist, which was released on Netflix just days before this skin's initial release on the PBE.

  • This skin may also have been inspired by the video-game Asura's Wrath, with Lee Sin's appearance closely resembling the game's protagonist, Asura.
  • His dance is a reference to Kurt Sloane's dance in the 1989 film Kickboxer.
