About

MLG Providence was the second event in the MLG Pro Circuit to feature League of Legends. Thirty-two teams competed in the online qualifiers for the event, and the top four teams were flown to Providence to fight for the $15,000 top prize.

Format

Thirty-two teams entered the online qualifiers, which took place on November 5th. Eight teams were invited, while the remaining 24 spots were filled by open registration. It was a single-elimination bracket, with each match consisting of a best-of-three series. The top four teams were flown out to Providence to compete in the live event.

At MLG Providence itself, the four teams competed in a double-elimination bracket with each match once again being a best-of-three series. The one exception was the Grand Finals, which were a best of seven that included the results from the previous series played by the teams.

Prize Pool

The prize pool was $32,000, split among the teams as follows:

1st $15,000
2nd $8,000
3rd $5,000
4th $2,000
