A massive creature of living stone, 
Malphite was born from the heart of the great 
Ixtal construct known as the Monolith. He has studied the elemental balance of 
Runeterra for thousands of years, using his tremendous strength to maintain order in a frequently chaotic world. Now, roused all too often from his slumbers, Malphite endures the fluid temperaments of mortals, while struggling to find a cause worthy of the last of his kind.

Background[]
The Monolith was a living, floating fortress the size of a city. It was created by the God-Warrior Ne'Zuk as the ultimate weapon against the onslaught of 
the Void. While the Monolith was destroyed in battle, a single shard awoke centuries later, calling itself Malphite.
Appearance[]
Malphite is a walking mountain, a rough assembly of stone and earth, sometimes featuring sparse patches of plant life. It is vaguely human-shaped, with enormously broad, bulky shoulders and a hunched posture. It has four-fingered hands, three-toed feet, and a relatively small head with eyes and a mouth that glow green. It features numerous upward-facing spikes resembling craggy mountain peaks on its head, back, forearms, and knees.
Personality[]
Stoic yet easygoing, Malphite is fond of making quaint observations. It is extremely friendly to mortals as well as other stone golems, who it often regards as family. However, it can become aggressive when necessary, unleashing the unstoppable force of its awesome might against its enemies. Acutely aware of its giant size and strength, Malphite is a protector of Runeterra, standing stalwart against the forces of the Void whom it was created to combat.

- Golem Physiology: Malphite is an immortal construct of living stone. His mountainous size affords him incalculable strength, stony durability, and surprising speed.
- Geomancy: Malphite is able to form the land around him into various shapes, even using it as a projectile.

Birthed as a servitor-shard to an otherworldly obelisk known as the Monolith, he used his tremendous elemental strength to maintain and protect his progenitor, but ultimately failed. The only survivor of the destruction that followed, Malphite now endures Runeterra's soft folk and their fluid temperaments, while struggling to find a new role worthy of the last of his kind.
