Summon Voidling
Summon Voidling

On every fourth ability use, Malzahar summons a Voidling that remains on the field until it is killed or after 21 seconds have passed. If Malzahar dies, the Voidling stays behind but stops attacking.

Voidlings grow in size after 7 seconds, gaining 50% bonus attack damage and armor, and frenzy after 14 seconds, gaining 100% bonus attack speed.

Null Zone

Active: Malzahar creates a zone of negative energy for 5 seconds, dealing magic damage every second to all enemies standing on it, capped at 120 against minions and monsters.

Additional Information:

  • Null Zone begins dealing damage 0.25 seconds after being cast.
  • Null Zone has no cast time and does not interrupt Malzahar's previous orders but will cancel Nether Grasp.png Nether Grasp.

Nether Grasp old

Active: Malzahar Grounded icon knocks down the target enemy champion and channels for up to 2.5 seconds, Suppression icon suppressing them and dealing them magic damage every half second while the channel holds.

Ability Details
Nether Grasp is a single-targeted, channeled ability with damage over time and tether components.

Additional Information:

  • Nether Grasp's suppression can be removed with Unbreakable Will.png Unbreakable Will, Remove Scurvy.png Remove Scurvy, and Quicksilver Sash item.png Quicksilver Sash.
    • Possible Bug: Ragnarok.png Ragnarok will remove both the suppression and the tethered damage as well as prevent Malzahar from even forming the tether if Ragnarok.png Ragnarok is already active (effectively putting Nether Grasp on cooldown with no effect)
  • Like all channeled abilities, Nether Grasp will be interrupted by hard crowd control (Stun icon stun, Silence icon silence) and will end prematurely if Malzahar performs any other action (moving, casting other abilities)
  • Malzahar is unable to perform any actions for the first 0.5 seconds of the channel to prevent him from accidentally cancelling Nether Grasp.
    • This is the result of high playerbase demand as this happened often to click-heavy players.
  • Nether Grasp's targets may themselves interrupt the channeling if their crowd control abilities are mid-flight or cannot be interrupted.

    • Malzahar spawns a Voidling Voidling at the target location, which lasts for 12 seconds. The first time a Voidling attacks a champion or large monster, or assists in killing a unit, Malzahar will spawn an additional Voidling with the same remaining duration that can in turn spawn an additional Voidling. This cannot happen if there is less than 4 seconds remaining. When three or more Voidling are active, they all gain 50% bonus attack speed.
    • Voidlings deal 30 / 32.5 / 35 / 37.5 / 40% AD physical damage plus 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 (+ 10% AP) bonus magic damage. The damage is reduced to 75% against monsters, and increased to 300% against minions below 25% of their maximum health.
    • Voidlings will gain 100% bonus movement speed toward priority targets (denoted with †)
