Many men have gone mad beneath the glare of the Shuriman sun, but it was during the night's chilling embrace that Malzahar relinquished his sanity. Malzahar was born a Seer, blessed with the gift of foresight. His talent, though unrefined, promised to be one of Runeterra's greatest boons, but destiny plotted him another course; his sensitivity to the roiling tides of fate allowed other, unwelcome things to tug at his subconscious mind. In his dreams, where the veil of separation is thinnest, a sinister thing beckoned. For some time, Malzahar was able to resist its prodding, but with each passing night the voice grew louder, or perhaps deeper, until he could withstand the call no more.

He ventured into the desert without supplies, drawn by the lure of a specious charm. His destination: a lost civilization to the east, known to ancient texts as Icathia. Few believed such a place ever existed, and those who did were certain that the sands had long since devoured whatever remained. When Malzahar's cracked feet finally failed him, he found himself kneeling at the base of a bizarre crumbling obelisk. Beyond it lain the alien geometry of a ruined city and the giant decaying idols of dark and horrific gods. His eyes, seeing what others cannot, and what none should, were filled with the essence of the Void. His once shifting visions of the future were replaced with the immutable promise of Valoran beset by creatures of the Void. Standing alone, but not alone, amidst the echoing dunes, he noticed the familiar voice escape his own lips in a parched rasp, bearing three words whose weight trembled his knees: League of Legends. Now infused with the power of the Void itself, Malzahar set off to the north to seek his fate.

Previous Abilities

Summon Voidling
Summon Voidling

On every fourth ability use, Malzahar summons a Voidling that that lasts for 21 seconds or until killed. If Malzahar dies, the Voidling stays behind but stops attacking.

Voidlings grow in size after 7 seconds, gaining 50% bonus attack damage and 50% bonus armor. After another 7 seconds, they frenzy and gain 100% bonus attack speed.

Active: After a 0.5 seconds delay, Malzahar summons two orbs at the target location perpendicular to where he is facing, dealing magic damage to all enemies caught between the orbs and Silence icon silencing them.

  • Null Zone has no cast time and does not interrupt Malzahar's previous orders (will cancel Nether Grasp.png Nether Grasp)
  • Null Zone has a 0.25 seconds delay before it starts ticking.
  • When powered by Liandry&#039;s Torment item.png Liandry's Torment, Null Zone will deal up to 16% of target's current health as magic damage over 8 seconds (6% over 3 seconds with a single tick, with further ones refreshing the effect)

Additional Information:

  • Summon Voidling.png Voidlings will automatically attack the nearest target affected by Malefic Visions (prioritizing champions) if no target is affected by Nether Grasp.png Nether Grasp.
  • Malefic Visions can be removed by Quicksilver but not by Cleanse.png Cleanse.
  • Malefic Visions is not considered a unit-targeted ability for the purposes of Furor item.png Furor and Hextech Gunblade item.png Hextech Gunblade.

Nether Grasp is a unit-targeted, damage over time ability with a channel component.

Additional Information:

  • When powered by Liandry&#039;s Torment item.png Liandry's Torment, Nether Grasp will deal 16% of target's current health as magic damage over 5.5 seconds.
  • Nether Grasp's suppression can be removed with Unbreakable Will.png Unbreakable Will, Remove Scurvy.png Remove Scurvy, and Quicksilver Sash item.png Quicksilver Sash.
    • Possible Bug: Ragnarok.png Ragnarok will not only remove both the suppression and the damage over time, but will also prevent Malzahar from even creating the tether, if Ragnarok.png Ragnarok is already active (effectively putting Nether Grasp on cooldown with no effect)
  • Nether Grasp can be interrupted by hard crowd control (Stun icon stun, Silence icon silence) or end prematurely if Malzahar performs any other action (moving, using other abilities)
  • Malzahar is unable to perform any actions for the first 0.5 seconds of the channel (to prevent him from accidentally canceling Nether Grasp, as was highly requested by the playerbase since it happened often to click-heavy players)
  • Nether Grasp's target may themselves interrupt the channel if their crowd control abilities are mid-flight or cannot be interrupted (Notable Examples: Alistar Alistar, Draven Draven, Elise Elise, Fizz Fizz, Garen Garen, Irelia Irelia, Jayce Jayce, Maokai Maokai, Orianna Orianna, Quinn Quinn, Shyvana Shyvana, Tristana Tristana, and Xerath Xerath)

This cannot happen if there is less than 4 seconds remaining. When three or more Voidling are active, they all gain 50% bonus attack speed.
    • Voidlings deal 30 / 32.5 / 35 / 37.5 / 40% AD physical damage plus 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 (+ 10% AP) bonus magic damage. The damage is reduced to 75% against monsters, and increased to 300% against minions below 25% of their maximum health.
    • Voidlings will gain 100% bonus movement speed toward priority targets (denoted with †)
