The health bar, colored green, on top, and the Mana bar, colored blue, on the bottom.

Mana is the resource of some champions necessary to cast most of his/her abilities. The mana pool is represented by a blue bar below the green health bar and two numbers ( # / # ) in the middle of it. The first one is your current amount of mana and the second refers to the maximum amount you can store. Mana regenerates over time and this rate can be increased with masteries and items.


At level 18, the base mana pool ranges from Warwick Warwick's 750.4 to Kassadin Kassadin's 1537.6.

Maximum mana has a gold value of Gold per point. Mana regen has a gold value of 7.2 Gold per percent of base mana regen per 5 seconds.

Champion abilities

  • Bard Bard's Traveler's Call.png Traveler's Call restores 12% of maximum mana when picking up a chime.
  • Blitzcrank Blitzcrank's Mana Barrier.png Mana Barrier grants a shield that absorb up to 50% of current mana health when dropping below 20% maximum health for up to 10 seconds.
  • Cassiopeia Cassiopeia's Twin Fang.png Twin Fang refunds its mana cost plus 1.5% maximum mana when killing a target.
  • Evelynn Evelynn's Shadow Walk.png Shadow Walk regenerates 2% of her missing mana every second, after being out of combat for 6 / 5 / 4 / 3 seconds.
  • Kassadin Kassadin's Nether Blade.png Nether Blade restores 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8% missing mana and 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% missing mana against champions.
    • Kassadin Kassadin's Riftwalk.png Riftwalk deals 80 / 100 / 120 + (20% AP) + (2% maximum mana) magic damage, up to 240 / 300 / 360 + (60% AP) + (6% maximum mana) magic damage at 4 stacks.
  • Ryze Ryze's Arcane Mastery.png Arcane Mastery grants a shield that absorb up to 20 + (5 × Ryze's level) (+ 8% maximum mana) at 5 stacks for 2.5 + (0.5 × Overload.png Overload's rank) seconds.
    • Ryze Ryze's Overload.png Overload deals 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160 + (55% AP) + (2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4% maximum mana) magic damage.
    • Ryze Ryze's Rune Prison.png Rune Prison deals 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160 + (40% AP) + (2.5% maximum mana) magic damage.
    • Ryze Ryze's Spell Flux.png Spell Flux deals 36 / 52 / 65 / 84 / 100 + (20% AP) + (2% maximum mana) magic damage to the first target hit. Other targets hit will suffer 18 / 26 / 34 / 42 / 50 + (10% AP) + (1% maximum mana) magic damage.
  • Singed Singed's Empowered Bulwark.png Empowered Bulwark grants him bonus health equal to 25% of his maximum mana.
  • Skarner Skarner's Crystal Spires.png Crystal Spires restores 2% maximum mana every second while being within range of a Crystal Spire controlled by his team.
  • Swain Swain's Carrion Renewal.png Carrion Renewal restores 9 + (Swain's level) mana upon killing an enemy or structure, and 9% maximum mana upon champion takedown.
  • Urgot Urgot's Terror Capacitor.png Terror Capacitor grants a shield that absorb up to 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 + (80% AP) + (8% maximum mana) health for up to 7 seconds.
  • Veigar Veigar's Equilibrium.png Equilibrium grants 1.5% increased mana regeneration for every 1% of his missing mana.

  • Athene's Unholy Grail item.png Athene's Unholy Grail restores 2% of missing mana every 5 seconds, and restores 30% of maximum mana on kill or assist.

  • Guardian Angel item.png Guardian Angel restores 30% of maximum health and 30% of maximum mana 4 seconds after taking lethal damage.

  • Muramana item.png Muramana grants (2% maximum mana) attack damage. Unique Toggle: Single target spells and attacks (on hit) consume 3% of current mana to deal 6% of your current mana as physical damage.
  • Mikael's Crucible item.png Mikael's Crucible restores 2% of missing mana every 5 seconds.
  • Magus item.png Runeglaive restores 8% of missing mana against monsters.
  • Seraph's Embrace item.png Seraph's Embrace grants (3% maximum mana) ability power. Unique Active – Mana Shield: Drains 20% of your current mana to shield yourself for an equal amount plus 150 for 3 seconds.

Masteries

  • Strength of Spirit mastery s4.png Meditation will restore 0.3 / 0.6 / 0.9 / 1.2 / 1.5% of missing mana once every 5 seconds.
  • Dangerous Game mastery 2016.png Dangerous Game restores 5% of missing health and 5% of missing mana upon killing or assisting on a champion kill.

A champion's mana can be restored in several ways:

  • Annie Annie's Disintegrate.png Disintegrate refunds its mana cost (60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80) if it kills the target.
  • Cho'Gath Cho'Gath's Carnivore.png Carnivore restores 3.25 + (0.25 × Cho'Gath's level) mana per kill.
  • Cassiopeia Cassiopeia's Twin Fang.png Twin Fang restores its mana cost (50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90) plus 1.5% of her maximum mana when it kills a target.
  • Darius Darius's Crippling Strike.png Crippling Strike refunds 30 mana if it kills the target.
  • Evelynn Evelynn's Shadow Walk.png Shadow Walk restores 2% of her missing mana every second, after being out of combat for 6 / 5 / 4 / 3 seconds.
  • Gangplank Gangplank's Parrrley.png Parrrley refunds 25 mana if it kills the target.
  • Irelia Irelia's Bladesurge.png Bladesurge refunds 35 mana if it kills the target.
  • Jayce Jayce's Lightning Field.png Lightning Field restores 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 mana per hit while in Transform- Mercury Hammer.png Hammer Stance.
  • Karthus Karthus's Defile.png Defile, while toggle off, restores 20 / 27 / 34 / 41 / 48 mana upon killing an enemy.
  • Kassadin Kassadin's Nether Blade.png Nether Blade active restores 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8% of missing mana on hit. The value quintuples against enemy champions for a maximum of 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% of missing mana.
  • Malzahar Malzahar's Malefic Visions.png Malefic Visions restores 10 / 14 / 18 / 22 / 26 mana per enemy unit that dies while having this ability on them.
  • Sivir Sivir's Spell Shield.png Spell Shield restores 80 / 95 / 110 / 125 / 140 mana whenever it successfully blocks an ability.
  • Swain Swain's Carrion Renewal.png Carrion Renewal restores 9 + (Swain's level) mana upon killing an enemy or structure, and 9% maximum mana upon champion takedown.
  • Twisted Fate Twisted Fate's Blue Card.png Blue Card restores 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 mana upon hiting an enemy unit or structure with this card.
  • Varus Varus's Piercing Arrow.png Piercing Arrow refunds half of its mana cost (35 / 37.5 / 40 / 42.5 / 45) if he fails to fire after four seconds of channeling the ability.
  • Veigar Veigar's Equilibrium.png Equilibrium grants 1.5% increased mana regeneration for every 1% of his missing mana.
  • Xerath Xerath's Mana Surge.png Mana Surge restores 「 30 – 195 」「 30 - 195 (based on level) 」 mana every 12 seconds on a basic attack. The amount of mana restored is doubled if the attack target is a champion. This does not apply to structures.
    • Xerath Xerath's Arcanopulse.png Arcanopulse refunds half of its mana cost (40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60) if he fails to fire after 3 seconds of channeling the ability.

Increasing mana

Several items and runes can increase the total mana of a champion. This statistic scales additively, which means that each bonus point acquired is directly added to the mana pool.

Items

  • Archangel's Staff item.png Archangel's Staff: +250 mana. Unique Passive – Mana Charge: Each time you cast a spell or spend mana, grants +8 / 10 maximum mana (occurs up to 2 times every 8 / 6 seconds). Bonus caps at +750 mana. +80 ability power, +50% base mana regeneration. Unique Passive – Insight: Grants (3% of your maximum mana) ability power. Transforms into Seraph's Embrace item.png Seraph's Embrace at +750 mana. 3000 Gold.
  • Catalyst the Protector item.png Catalyst the Protector: +300 mana, +200 health. Unique Passive – Valor's Reward: Upon leveling up, restores 150 health and 200 mana over 8 seconds. 1200 Gold.
  • Frozen Heart item.png Frozen Heart: +400 mana, +90 armor, +20% cooldown reduction. Unique Aura: Reduces the attack speed of nearby enemies by 15% (700 range). 2600 Gold.
  • Glacial Shroud item.png Glacial Shroud: +250 mana, +20 armor. Unique Passive: +10% cooldown reduction. 900 Gold.
  • Iceborn Gauntlet item.png Iceborn Gauntlet: +500 mana, +60 armor, +30 ability power, +10% cooldown reduction. Unique Passive – Spellblade: After using an ability, the next basic attack (on hit) deals 125% base AD bonus physical damage to enemies near the target, and creates a field around the target for 2 seconds that slows enemy movement speed by 30% (1.5 second cooldown) (half-sized field if ranged). 2850 Gold.
  • Lich Bane item.png Lich Bane: +250 mana, +80 ability power, +5% movement speed. Unique Passive – Spellblade: After using an ability, the next basic attack deals (75% base AD) + (50% AP) bonus magic damage (1.5 second cooldown). 3000 Gold.
  • Manamune item.png Manamune: +250 mana. Unique Passive – Mana Charge: Each time you cast a spell or spend mana, grants + 4 / 8 maximum mana (occurs up to 2 times every 8 / 6 seconds). Bonus caps at +750 mana. +25 attack damage, +25% of base mana regeneration. Unique Passive – Awe: Grants (2% of your maximum mana) attack damage. Transforms into Muramana item.png Muramana at +750 mana. 2200 Gold.
  • Muramana item.png Muramana: +1000 mana, +25 attack damage, +25% of base mana regeneration. Unique Passive – Awe: Grants (2% of your maximum mana) attack damage. Unique Toggle: Single target spells and attacks (on hit) consume 3% of current mana to deal 6% of current mana as physical damage. 2200 Gold.
  • Righteous Glory item.png Righteous Glory: +300 mana, +500 health, +100% of base health regeneration. Unique Active: Grants +60% movement speed to nearby allies when moving towards ennemies or enemy turrets for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds, a shockwave is emitted, slowing nearby enemy champion movement speed by 80% for 1 second. This effect may be reactivated early to instantly release the shockwave (90 second cooldown). 2400 Gold.
  • Rod of Ages item.png Rod of Ages: +400 mana. Passive: Grants +20 health, +40 mana, and +4 ability power every minute / 40 seconds (maximum +200 health, +400 mana, and +40 ability power). +300 health, +60 ability power. Unique Passive – Valor's Reward: Upon leveling up, restores 150 health and 200 mana over 8 seconds. 2700 Gold.
  • Sapphire Crystal item.png Sapphire Crystal: +200 mana. 400 Gold.
  • Seraph's Embrace item.png Seraph's Embrace: +1000 mana, +80 ability power, +50% base mana regeneration. Unique Passive – Insight: Grants (3% of your maximum mana) ability power. Unique Active – Mana Shield: Consumes 20% of current mana to shield yourself for 150 + (20% of current mana) for 3 seconds (120 second cooldown). 3000 Gold.
  • Sheen item.png Sheen: +200 mana, +25 ability power. Unique Passive – Spellblade: After using an ability, the next basic attack deals 100% base AD bonus physical damage (1.5 second cooldown). 1200 Gold.
  • Tear of the Goddess item.png Tear of the Goddess: +250 mana. Unique Passive – Mana Charge: Each time you cast a spell or spend mana, grants + 4 / 5 maximum mana (occurs up to 2 times every 8 / 6 seconds). This bonus caps at +750 mana. +25% of base mana regeneration. 720 Gold.
  • Trinity Force item.png Trinity Force: +200 mana, +30 attack damage, +30 ability power, +30% attack speed, +10% critical strike chance, +8% movement speed, +250 health. Unique Passive – Rage: Basic attacks grant 20 movement speed for 2 seconds on hit. Minion, monster, and champion kills grant 60 movement speed for 2 seconds. This movement speed bonus is halved for ranged champions. Unique Passive – Spellblade: After using an ability, the next basic attack deals 200% base AD bonus physical damage (1.5 second cooldown). 3703 Gold.
  • Zeke's Harbinger item.png Zeke's Harbinger: +250 mana, +35 armor, +50 ability power, +10% cooldown reduction. Unique Active – Conduit: Bind to target ally (60 second cooldown). Unique Passive: When within 1000 units of each other, you and your Conduit will generate 1 charge every second, up to 100, with a bonus 4/2 charges whenever you or your ally attack, and 8/4 on spell cast. At 100 charges, causing damage consumes them, increasing your and your ally's ability power by 20% and critical strike chance by 50% for 8 seconds. 2250 Gold.

  • CH Hextech Sweeper item.png Hextech Sweeper: +250 mana, +225 health, +25 armor, +20% cooldown reduction. Unique Passive – Trap Detection: Nearby stealthed enemy traps are revealed. Unique Active: A stealth-detecting mist grants vision in the target area for 5 seconds, revealing enemy champions that enter for 3 seconds (60 second cooldown). 2080 Gold.
  • C Odyn's Veil item.png Odyn's Veil: +350 mana, +350 health, +50 magic resistance. Unique Passive: Reduces and stores 10% of magic damage received. Unique Active: Deals 200 + (stored magic damage – max 200) magic damage to nearby enemy units (90 second cooldown) (525 range). 2450 Gold.
  • ST Magus item.png Runeglaive: +200 mana, +50 abilty power, +10% cooldown reduction. Unique Passive – Spellblade: After using an ability, your next basic attack deals 100% base AD + (30% AP) bonus magic damage (1.5 second cooldown). When direclty attacking a monster, the bonus damage is reapplied in an AoE around the target and also restores 8% of your missing mana. 1400 Gold.
