Please note the following:

  • Movement includes abilities (such as Ezreal Ezreal's Arcane Shift.png Arcane Shift).
    • For example, while airborne you can cast all summoner spells except Flash.png Flash and Teleport.png Teleport.
  • Dashes are only interrupted by Airborne effects.
    • Yasuo Yasuo's Sweeping Blade.png Sweeping Blade is an exception, as it is the only Dash that will be interrupted by Roots, Entangles, Stuns and Suppressions.
  • Attack refers to a champion's basic attacks (by default right-click).
  • Ability refers to a champion's castable spells (by default Q, W, E and R).
    • Mikael's Crucible item.png Mikael's Crucible cannot be activated where Abilities are disabled, as the item is intended to be used on allies.
  • Spells refers to the Summoner Spells.
  • Interrupt refers to whether or not the effect will cancel channeled abilities.
    • Roots and Entangles will NOT interrupt channeling, with the exception of two special-cases: Teleport.png Teleport and Shen Shen's Stand United.png Stand United. Roots and Entangles will also interrupt Vault Breaker.png Vault Breaker and Elastic Slingshot.png Elastic Slingshot by virtue of disabling their second casts.
    • Nearsight prevents the activation of "long ranged" abilities, which seems to include any ability that can input targets via the map. By virtue of disabling the second cast, Nearsight will interrupt Elastic Slingshot.png Elastic Slingshot. This may be a bug, although is thematically appropriate for an effect the removes the target's ability to see.
  • Mercurial Scimitar item.png Mercurial Scimitar removes any crowd control effect that Quicksilver Sash item.png Quicksilver Sash would.

Airborne icon Airborne

A unit that is made airborne is moved in a specified direction or to a specific point. For the duration, the unit is also Stun icon stunned and cannot move, attack, cast abilities, activate items or use the summoner spells Flash.png Flash and Teleport.png Teleport.
Interrupts: Interrupts all channeled and charged abilities, as well as Glacial Storm.png Glacial Storm, all dash abilities and other airborne effects.
Reduction: The duration is not reduced by crowd control reduction.
Resist: Resisted by Black Shield.png Black Shield and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok, as well as dashes that grant immunity to disables.
Removal: The forced movement of airborne effects cannot be removed by cleansing effects. However, Cleanse.png Cleanse, Quicksilver Sash item Quicksilver, Mikael's Crucible item.png Mikael's Crucible, Remove Scurvy.png Remove Scurvy, Unbreakable Will.png Unbreakable Will and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok can be used to remove the stun effect. Once the user is able to activate abilities: a dash or blink ability can be used to overrule the airborne.

To expand upon the countering of airborne effects, consider that the effects are made up of two components: a movement modifier (called a "move block" by Riot, referring to a chunk of code) and a stun (which is responsible for the disabling attacking and casting). As a general rule, the most recent move block will over-rule any previous move blocks, which is how Alistar Alistar's Headbutt.png Headbutt and Pulverize.png Pulverize combo functions. This rule also extends to all beneficial movement modifiers, such as dashes and blinks, which is why Rocket Grab.png Rocket Grab will interrupt Rocket Jump.png Rocket Jump (although beneficial effects are not usually combined with a disabling effect, allowing Tristana Tristana to still activate abilities during Rocket Jump.png Rocket Jump but not during Rocket Grab.png Rocket Grab).

  • Through the use of cleansing effects or tenacity, players can remove the stun and subsequently activate abilities such as Flash.png Flash or champion-specific dashes to break the airborne's move block.
  • In some instances, the stun duration is longer than the move block (e.g. Sion Sion's Unstoppable Onslaught.png Unstoppable Onslaught), but in most cases they are the same duration. There have been cases in the past where the stun duration was shorter, but this usually lead to bug-like interactions and was later "fixed" (e.g. Azir Azir's Emperor's Divide.png Emperor's Divide did not apply any stun at all in the initial charge on the ability, which allowed his enemies to use Flash/dash to supersede the charge's knockback and get over the wall).

  • The target is made Airborne icon airborne in a direction perpendicular from the source.
  • Champions with Knock Aside: Corki Corki, Draven Draven, Vi Vi.

Blind icon Blind

A unit that is blinded will deal 100% reduced physical damage on-hit (represented by a "Miss" pop-up), including most on-hit physical damage sourced from abilities. Blind will not mitigate other damage types (with the exception of Hextech Shrapnel Shells.png Hextech Munitions and Infinite Duress.png Infinite Duress and will not prevent most other effects, such as Bear Stance.png Bear Stance's stun. Unlike Disarm icon Disarm, Blind does not prevent the unit from declaring attacks.
Interrupts: Does not interrupt any abilities. While in most cases one-use on-hit effects will not be consumed until an attack successfully hits: a select few on-hit effects will "miss" and be wasted.
Reduction: The duration is reduced by crowd control reduction. Crowd control reduction stacks multiplicatively.
Resist: Resisted by Black Shield.png Black Shield and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok. Dashes that grant immunity to disables will ignore the effects of Blind for the duration of the dash, but the target will be affected upon landing if the disable duration permits.
Removal: Removed by Cleanse.png Cleanse, Quicksilver Sash item Quicksilver, Mikael's Crucible item.png Mikael's Crucible, Unbreakable Will.png Unbreakable Will, Remove Scurvy.png Remove Scurvy and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok.

  • Champions with Blind: Teemo Teemo
  • Thornmail item.png Thornmail's passive returns 30% of all physical damage back to the attacker as magic damage before the damage is reduced by any effect, including blind. So it still applies if the target is blinded.
  • Blinded enemies will only miss if they attack while blinded; ranged units still hit if the projectile fires before the blind.

A unit that is disarmed is unable to declare attacks.
Interrupts: Interrupts The Culling.png The Culling, but no other abilities.
Reduction: The duration is reduced by crowd control reduction. Crowd control reduction stacks multiplicatively.

Charm icon Charm

A unit that is charmed will move toward the source for the duration, during which time they cannot control their own movement or attacks, and cannot cast abilities, activate items or use the summoner spells Flash.png Flash and Teleport.png Teleport.
Interrupts: Interrupts all channeled and charged abilities, but will not interrupt Glacial Storm.png Glacial Storm. It will also interrupt Sweeping Blade.png Sweeping Blade and prevent Hop.png Hop from bouncing.
Reduction: The duration is reduced by crowd control reduction. Crowd control reduction stacks multiplicatively.

Fear icon Fear / Flee

A unit that is fleeing will move directly away from the source with 33% Slow icon reduced movement speed for the duration, during which time they cannot control their own movement or attacks, and cannot cast abilities, activate items or use the summoner spells Flash.png Flash and Teleport.png Teleport.
Interrupts: Interrupts all channeled and charged abilities, but will not interrupt Glacial Storm.png Glacial Storm. It will also interrupt Sweeping Blade.png Sweeping Blade and prevent Hop.png Hop from bouncing.
Reduction: The duration is reduced by crowd control reduction. Crowd control reduction stacks multiplicatively.

The slow's strength is reduced by Swiftness mastery s4.png Swiftness, Boots of Swiftness item.png Boots of Swiftness, Elixir of Iron item.png Elixir of Iron and Frost Armor.png Frost Armor. Slow resistance stacks multiplicatively.

Resist: Resisted by Black Shield.png Black Shield and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok. Dashes that grant immunity to disables will ignore the effects of Flee for the duration of the dash, but the target will be affected upon landing if the disable duration permits. The slow is also resisted by Highlander.png Highlander.

  • Champions with Flee: Darius Darius (non-champions only), Fiddlesticks Fiddlesticks, Hecarim Hecarim, Nocturne Nocturne, Shaco Shaco, Urgot Urgot and Volibear Volibear (non-champion enemies only).
    • Uniquely to Volibear, Fear causes the target to wonder around aimlessly instead of away from the source.

Taunt icon Taunt

A unit that is taunted is will attempt to attack the source for the duration, during which time they cannot control their own movement or attacks, and cannot cast abilities, activate items or use the summoner spells Flash.png Flash and Teleport.png Teleport.
Interrupts: Interrupts all channeled and charged abilities, but will not interrupt Glacial Storm.png Glacial Storm. It will also interrupt Sweeping Blade.png Sweeping Blade and prevent Hop.png Hop from bouncing.
Reduction: The duration of Puncturing Taunt.png Puncturing Taunt and Shadow Dash.png Shadow Dash will be reduced by crowd control reduction, but the duration of Idol of Durand.png Idol of Durand will not. Crowd control reduction stacks multiplicatively.
Resist: Resisted by Black Shield.png Black Shield and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok. Dashes that grant immunity to disables will ignore the effects of Taunt for the duration of the dash, but the target will be affected upon landing if the disable duration permits.

Nearsight icon Nearsight

An argument can be made that Nearsight is a debuff, rather than a form of crowd control, due to it not being affected by crowd control reduction nor immunity, as well as being resistant to cleanse effects. However, as the effect disables the use of some abilities and all but one source is a persistent effect (i.e. they cannot be removed or reduced anyway), it is being listed here.
A unit that is nearsighted has their Sight icon sight radius reduced by 900 and loses their allied vision (i.e. their ability to see what their allies see). The target is also unable to activate "long ranged" abilities even if the target is visible, which appears to cover any ability that can be targeted using the map. For example: Enchanted Crystal Arrow.png Enchanted Crystal Arrow, Stand United.png Stand United and Teleport.png Teleport. This may be a bug.
Interrupts: Interrupts Elastic Slingshot.png Elastic Slingshot, but no other abilities.
Reduction: The duration is not reduced by crowd control reduction.
Resist: Cannot be resisted except by negating the application - e.g. spell shields.
Removal: Removed by Quicksilver Sash item Quicksilver.

Root icon Root

A unit that is rooted is unable to control its movement for the duration. Moving covers movement commands, as well as all dash and blink abilities - including Flash.png Flash and Teleport.png Teleport.
Interrupts: Interrupts Stand United.png Stand United, Vault Breaker.png Vault Breaker, Sweeping Blade.png Sweeping Blade Elastic Slingshot.png Elastic Slingshot and Teleport.png Teleport, and will prevent Hop.png Hop from bouncing.
Reduction: The duration is reduced by crowd control reduction. Crowd control reduction stacks multiplicatively.
Resist: Resisted by Black Shield.png Black Shield and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok. Dashes that grant immunity to disables will ignore the effects of Root for the duration of the dash, but the target will be affected upon landing if the disable duration permits.

A unit that is slowed has reduced movement and/or attack speed for the duration.

Reduction: The duration is not reduced by crowd control reduction.

Removal: Stasis cannot be removed by any means.

Stun icon Suspension

A unit that is suspended is made Airborne icon Airborne on the spot and is also Stun icon stunned, preventing them from moving, attacking, casting abilities, activating items or using the summoner spells Flash.png Flash and Teleport.png Teleport. The distinction between Suspension and a traditional Airborne is that a Suspension is affected by crowd control reduction and can be removed by cleansing effects.
Interrupts: Interrupts all channeled and charged abilities, as well as Glacial Storm.png Glacial Storm, all dash abilities and other airborne effects.
Reduction: The duration is reduced by crowd control reduction. Crowd control reduction stacks multiplicatively.
Resist: Resisted by Black Shield.png Black Shield and Ragnarok.png Ragnarok. Dashes that grant immunity to disables will ignore the effects of Suspension for the duration of the dash, but the target will be affected upon landing if the disable duration permits.
