Sona Buvelle, Maven of the Strings is a champion in League of Legends [1].

Abilities

Sona's basic abilities use the stance mechanic. In addition to their activation effects, her basic abilities each grant a unique and persistent aura until she activates a different basic ability to change stance. The previous aura persists for 1 more second after Sona enters a different stance. Changing stances sets off a 0.5 second cooldown on Sona's basic abilities.

After 3 ability casts, Sona's next basic attack will deal 13 / 20 / 27 / 35 / 43 / 52 / 62 / 72 / 82 / 92 / 102 / 112 / 122 / 132 / 147 / 162 / 177 / 192 (+ 20% AP) bonus magic damage, with an additional effect depending on the last basic ability cast.

Ability Details

Power Chord is a one-use on-hit effect that triggers periodically.

Additional Information:

  • When Power Chord is ready, Sona gains a ring around her. This ring will have a different color depending on the last ability used ( blue,  green or  purple). The effect does not change if abilities are used while the projectile is in motion.
    • If Power Chord reaches its third charge using  Crescendo, its effect will be that of the active aura at that time, or that of whichever ability Sona uses thereafter.
    • If no song is playing when Power Chord is ready, it will have no effect and the buff is consumed after the next autoattack.
  • Sona's auras will only affect allied champions, not minions or pets.
  • Power Chord affects turrets, inhibitors, and the nexus, but  Diminuendo's damage debuff does not.
  • Power Chord resets Sona's attack timer when it is ready.

Persistent Aura: Sona plays the Hymn of Valor, granting nearby allied champions within 1000-range bonus attack damage and ability power.

  • Attack Damage & Ability Power: 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20

Power Chord Charged Power Chord - Staccato: If this spell was last cast when Power Chord is ready, Power Chord deals double damage.

Hymn of Valor's passive is an aura.
Hymn of Valor's active is a point blank auto-targeted ability.

Additional Information:

  • Even if both bolts from Hymn of Valor hits the same enemy, they can only be damaged by one.
  • Hymn of Valor will only target enemy units if Sona has sight of them.
    • If Hymn of Valor's target goes out of sight before the projectile hits them, they will still be damaged.

Aria of Perseverance's active is a point blank auto-targeted ability.

Additional Information:

  • Aria of Perseverance's aura and its active bonuses stack with each other.
  • Aria of Perseverance can heal stealthed ally champions without revealing them. However, the projectile will travel to them, showing their position upon cast.
  • If no one is injured, Aria of Perseverance will target the closest allied champion.
  • While Aria of Perseverance will not heal minions or pets, it will heal  LeBlanc's  Mirror Image,  Mordekaiser's  Children of the Grave,  Shaco's  Hallucinate and  Wukong's  Decoy (these units are considered champions for all intents and purposes).

Ability Details

Crescendo is pass-through linear skillshot and line area of effect ability.

Additional Information:

  • Crescendo has a brief channel time (0.2s) upon cast before it activates.
  • Crescendo has a short travel time and enemies will be stunned and take damage as soon as it reaches them. However, if a target moves out of range as it is cast, the target will be unaffected.

Activating Sona's basic abilities creates a unique 350-radius aura that lasts 3 seconds, setting a 0.5-second cooldown on her other basic abilities. The aura's duration is extended by 0.5 seconds for every allied champion who enters its radius, up to a maximum of 5 seconds.
