Release date pushed?[]

Noticed the "...until League of Legends is released!" From what I've been seeing on the forums, it looks like the date has been pushed. While it's not conclusive, check out this thread: http://beta.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=13474

Champion Spotlight[]

I'm proposing the Featured Champion of the Week. Or at least change the one it is on the main page, IMO to keep improving the page we need to change it every week so the visitors are aware of the changes we make. Sounds like a good idea... Ajraddatz Talk 14:07, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

The champions are wrong this week, june 28 2010 - july 4 2010. Pantheon is listed instead of gangplank. http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=148665

Wiki Favicon Needs a Change![]

Our wiki's favicon is very nice, but it's also identical to the official site's. I'm not worried that will offend anyone over there, but it does make it very confusing for Google Chrome users (and I imagine some others as well) with many tabs open, as the favicon is one of the quickest way to identify what site a tab is linked to. Combine the identical favicon with highly similar subject matter, and you have a recipe for confusion!

Could we perhaps have our own favicon based on the official one? Inversed, maybe? Or in the colors of the Wiki instead of the blue and gold of the game itself? | Ellonim 09:28, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Changing "Action RTS video game" to "MOBA video game"[]

Hello, I want to suggest changing this:

Welcome to League of Legends Wiki, the wiki about League of Legends that anyone can edit! We currently have 904 articles about the free-to-play action RTS video game created by Riot Games.

I suggest changing "action RTS video game" to "multiplayer online battle-arena game"(or simply MOBA).

On this page you can see Riot Games using the name mentioned above.

MatthewRock 12:10, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

Am I allowed to bump this and say that maybe it changed to MOBA...no..I'm probably not allowed, ok.--Dramartistic 02:41, August 9, 2012 (UTC)
I third this, LoL is specifically NOT an "ARTS", it's a MOBA game, and the wiki should reflect that...

Protect Template[]

Hello editors! I want to announce that I have created a new template for non-admins to use. The template is {{Protect}} You can place this template at the top of a page you think is in need of protection settings. Just leave your reasoning in the template.  Technology Wizard  Talk  Contribs  18:01, 8/22/2011

Newest Skins Section needs to be updated[]

Viktor and Skins for Veigar and Katarina has been released. So pictures for those needs to be put on the newest skins section —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.224.177.121 (talkcontribs)

Thanks! I don't see the Veigar and Katarina skins in the store, though. Dysrhythmia (talk) 23:21, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

Featured champion[]

Should not be so far up the page. --BBilge 12:06, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Tried to add a sale but the setup makes no sense.[]

I tried to add a champion sale that was missing but I was getting all kinds of weird prices assigned to the wrong champions and karthus refused to be included. The setup needs to be improved; at the current time the syntax is not sensible and I cannot find any place where it is explained. Void2258 23:35, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

The Skin sales list needs to be updated. I just found this post on reddit that Spooke Gangplanks, Prom Queen Annie and Runeborn Xerath are on Sale NOW but Riot has not officially posted this

Typo on the home page[]

It says that BC Cho'Gath was released on 3 July, but it was really 3 August. Would be great if someone would fix this, it is near the bottom. And guy above, the talk page here isn't the place to put your champion ideas. Roneld3444 (talk) 02:42, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

The free chamption rotation is incorrect. It is showing Evelynn, instead of Syndra.

Removing logos on the banner[]

There's already the logo above the title for Oasis or to the left for Monobook. Adding 2 more just adds to the clutter. For mobile user agents, it's extra images that do not contribute to the content. If there are any objections to the removal, please state reasons. —BryghtShadow 14:57, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

Previous Weeks Free Champions[]

Shouldn't the link for the Previous Weeks be changed to point to Champion_Rotation_Schedule_(Season_Three) instead of Champion_Rotation_Schedule_(Pre-Season_Three)?
-Glimmereyes (talk) 17:17, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

I agree, don't know how to edit though. Vekkzthere (talk) 17:33, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

Wrong Champion Rotation announced by riot.[]

Champion Rotation is wrong... should we change it?Nibelhim (talk) 14:29, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

A small change[]

LoL is not an action RTS game, it is a new category of games, called MOBA, so how about changing it?

Champion listing at the homepage[]

Hello, as a player and a frequent user of this wiki, I would suggest a change to the way champion icons are displayed at the main page to be similar to the way you can look up champion abilities/skins in the actual LoL client in the summoner profile, which is to display 12 champions in a single row.

Very often I find myself wondering about specifics of champion abilities while looking at the game loading screen, at that point i usually visit this wiki to quickly find the information, however seeing the champion list at the home page automatically brings up the LoL client champion list in my head and my eyes immediately start to look for a champion in position where it would be in the original LoL client list. Having both lists sorted in the same manner would save me several seconds during the game loading time and allow me to find the sought information that much faster.

Shen Portrait[]

Small thing, is anyone else seeing what looks like a super fuzy image of Shen on the main page? It's been like that for a while now, and it's only him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aerolite08 (talkcontribs)

It's a bug. Try clearing your cache, or purging it. If this doesn't fix the error, try Special:Contact to send a support ticket. We've already had a user mention this, and he fixed it by purging. Hope things work out for you! ~ Demise101 @ Talk! @ Contribs! ~ 02:38, January 17, 2014 (UTC)

Missing Trist[]

Tristana is MIA on the front page champ list. Fixed.

Rework of the Recommended Builds in Champion Strategies[]

I don't know what happened to the original post (it merged with another topic post here), so I'm going to have to re-type everything again. I'll be a little more elaborate this time.

As we all know, preseason has begun. New items have been introduced, some have been removed (goodbye Mana Potions and Stealth Wards...). What I have noticed is that most of the Champion Strategy pages are ~pretty~ outdated (evident when I made an overhaul on Miss Fortune's strategy page). While it is so much easier to type out different character strategies, I need to point out the Recommended Item Builds.

Since preseason started, the shop has changed the way in which a champion's recommended items are shown - rather than the usual "Starting - Essential - Offensive - Defensive - Consumables" setup, the shop now displays things a little bit differently - they show things like "Early Items", "Situational Items", "Aggressive Items", and the like.

With that said, I think it's high time to update the Recommended Item Builds to be able to include said headers.

Champion and Item filters are broken[]

When I select a filter for either the Champion or Item grid, say Classic 5x5. No matter what filter I select after about 20 seconds it resets itself. This makes it completely useless for browsing. I've tested this using Firefox on several PCs now and it behaves the same on each. Can someone who knows how the Wiki is built fix this please. It's especially painful as there is no useful filtering in the game client item set builder either. NeutrinoSunset (talk) 13:31, November 24, 2018 (UTC)

Champion list location.[]

Even before I thought the champions were kinda low down on the page, but not this is a new level. The champions are a full page scroll down on the desktop view. There the "Legends" of League of Legends. They should definitely be higher up than "Riot store" they're much more important than explore. These are weird priorities for information. Doctursea (talk) 20:58, October 23, 2019 (UTC)

Objectively speaking: they shouldn't be on the homepage at all. We are several orders of magnitude over what is considered a reasonable amount of links to have on a website's homepage - the List of champions link should be sufficient by itself. Given you had to scroll before and the amount of scrolling required hasn't substantially changed, I don't consider this to be a user-experience issue. 👑 Emptylord (talk) 05:05, October 24, 2019 (UTC)
There's also the search bar at the top of the page, and most browsers allow you to set-up search engine keyphrases. I can type the phrase "lol" followed by a search paramater (e.g. "lol senna") to search the LoL Wiki for Senna. Since the LoL Wiki automatically directs you to pages if they exist, that search takes me to Senna's article - right from my browser's home page. Tthe following is the search query, for anyone interested: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Search?search=%s. 👑 Emptylord (talk) 05:05, October 24, 2019 (UTC)
Saying you don't think champions should be on the frrontpage is the absolute dumbest thing I have ever read. Doctursea (talk) 21:22, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
You should perhaps learn to read, then. I never said that I thought they shouldn't be included on the homepage: I said that good page design dictates they shouldn't be. My intent was to keep them - so the challenge was to find a middle ground between the design issues and the user-wants. Separating the links into distinct groups reduces the visual-load. 👑 Emptylord (talk) 21:36, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
