• Considering Riven's mobility, I find it to be quite a problem when laning against her. The cooldowns can be fair early off, but with around 30% CDR she can escape most situations later on.

When attempting to make a trade against her, if Riven feels threatened at any point, she can easily make it to the other side of the lane, escaping most ganks and stopping the chance of an extended trade. The cooldown is fair enough without CDR that she can return to her last-hitting, and repeat the cycle. For someone who isn't planning on a gank, the only viable CC to bring her back is Blitzcrank, and I'm not about to put him top lane. No mana costs only enforces the absurdity of her ability to move around.

What if, for testing, they made only her Q's third strike dash, with an extended range about the same as her E, with the first two being able to be used while moving, as to not interrupt her flow by standing still to do a slash attack, Or, keep the range the same, but the first strike doesn't move her. If either situations, when tested, shows any average Riven user performing EXTREMELY worse, then it can be disregarded.

What do any of you think?

    • Thats the problem with Riven they messed with to many nerfs and they wouldn't be able to do that change unless they took her to her pre-nerfed state then done that. Her lane depends on who you are playing so, Riot didn't like Riven snowballing out fo control due to her insane level 2 so they did some damaging nerfs to her early, she is a lane bully so her main goal is to punish the person for mistakes and knock them out of lane. Riot wanted her to have a retarded weakness .... which is low hp regen so you see the only way you can kill her which high CDR is all in her with the RIGHT champion or you need to pick something with good SUSTAIN so you can trade her FREQUENTLY and even if she outdamaged you in the trade she will still loose cause you will regen the damage she has done and she won't. Even if you don't kill her you keep her from snowballing(aka shutting her down by yourself) this way and you win the lane. The best option to play against Riven is pick a champion whos build has armour in it or have range. So personaly I like the either play Shyvana or Jayce. Shyvana is a good choice cause she will outscale Riven so even if you don'y kill her in the lane you 100% have to advantage and Jayce with the right build can just 1 shot Riven if she even tries to get close( the infinity edge build). Basicly if you are having trouble against a Riven you are probably playing a unviable champion or just not a mobile one. Riven's late game is so bad if all 10 people are full builds cause the META is very anti-assassin atm so just pick a good scaling top or something with sustain and you will not have any problems vs her. If you deny her to snowball you insta win and you don't even need to kill her to let this happen just outscale and cs.

    • The thing about Riven is that she isn't the best against characters like Aatrox or other tanks (especially Aatrox b/c of his incredible sustain) or any late game character (excluding mages like Karthus that suck against any late game melee character). If you get items that can block spells such as Banshee's Veil, you can interupt her ability combos, and/or if you have a stun or a knockup you can use that to stop her in her tracks you can attack her and since she won't be able to use many abilities due to some being on cooldown, she will be forced to retreat and you should win the trade or maybe even kill her. As Kakaditz stated, don't let her snowball and get fed with cs or kills, and then late game she won't excel enough to cause a major problem. Hope this helps ;D

    • Jesus christ, neither of these people even read the fucking blog

The same thing happened to me when I wrote a Yasuo post. I feel your pain.

My thoughts are, her Q has to have mobility on it, otherwise the enemy could just walk away from it a little too easily. But I would definitely go for half-distance on her Q-jumps, so that she can't literally get ahead of people running away from her. This would also stop her from doing that Riven thing where she gets a kill or two on you, then starts dashing at you from 600 away, and still ends up taking half your health or more even having spent 1-2 of her Broken Wings on mobility.

I think they'd have to buff her damage to make up for it, though. She's actually pretty weak right now, judging from her win rate (46% last time I checked)

    • I think her middle strike shouldn't move her, that way she can dahs to an enemy and dash to catch up at the end, but has to land the middle strike to continue, so an enemy can dodge it to escape the combo

    • this is the same type of arguement you would say about Fizz, then you would proceed to say Fizz has too much mobility and that he needs nerfs. Get a grip, you're probably all garbage at league to even form a valid opinion. It never reached a point within the past 2 years where it was the highest picked, or banned in the LCS or any professional scene. Quit crying and ruining the game just because you're a noob.

    • Not sure if you are reading this, but you near perfectly described reworked Aatrox's Q.

    • There's a reason why some people called RITO for making a Riven 2.0 with Aatrox. His current Q could have been Riven's revamped one.
