Zombiebrine's Short Xerath Guide

Xeraths job is to be an aoe burst caster, kind of like brand. You need to be able to get your combo off and pick off the squishies. To begin, ALWAYS go for the squishies, as xerath your positioning is the most important thing, with locus you should easily be able to take out the enemy ad carry from the back of your team in a even team fight. With Xerath, you have one main problem, you need to be able to keep your damage high enough to burst down the carries all game. This requires a lot of ap, which is easily maintainable with the build i have surmised.

Best build i have found is Sorcs, a Dorans or 2 if your ahead, Deathcap, Morellos, Rylais, Archangels, and Void

-Sorcs: Much better then ionians price wise, will also allow you to put off void staff for longer.

-Deathcap: Must buy.

-Morellos: with sorcs this is much more gold efficient then ioanians, and its great ap, cdr and mana regen, whats not to love?

-Rylais: great durability with a great slow, and its enough ap to keep your damage up.

-Archangels Or WotA depending on your team: This item is just for extra ap. You dont have mana issues. If you want grab tear before deathcap though. For WotA, if you have another ap caster who could use it, pick it up.

-Void: Keeps you bursting people 100-0 past 35 minutes, not a good early item due to your W.

DO NOT: -Get rod of ages, too expensive and you dont need durability early, and if you play correctly and get blue buff, mana will never be an issue.

DO NOT: -Get zhyonas, if you get caught your playing xerath wrong, instead of reconsidering the build, reconsider your strategy.

Tips: Depending on how well you can position yourself max: Q then W if you have a harder time for cd reduction Q then E for more damage and stuns.

-A good combo for xerath is E > R > Q > R > R > Q His q can cast while he is casting R and if you stun them with the first r you should be easily able to get everything off.

-Dont be afraid to use his ult, 60 second cooldown (36 seconds with blue + morellos), try for kills in lane, cant hurt.

-Remember that your e does more single target damage than q. Use it for harassing in lane and healing if you or an ally has WotA.
