The City-States of Demacia and Ionia enjoy friendly relations with each other, mostly in part of the diplomats between both nations. Among them was Lady Chiyo Sakura, an Ionian adjudicator and a diplomat who was well regarded by the peoples of both nations. Having stayed in Demacia for a few years, Lady Chiyo fell in love and bore a child with a Demacian knight, a daughter named Mio. The couple decided that it was best for Chiyo to return to her homeland, in order to raise the child in a much more peaceful environment.
Mio grew up to be a disciplined and intelligent youth. She learned spiritual practices from her mother and martial arts from Master Lito, whose children befriended Mio. Mio led a quiet, happy life with her mother and friends, but a letter from her father would changed all this. The knight, having retired, asked to see Mio in Demacia, because he had not seen her since her birth. Reluctant at first, Mio accepted the invitation.
Having arrived in Demacia, under the more locally befitting name Myosotis D'Lys, Mio was trained further by her father to gain stronger control over both her physical and magical prowesses. Mio, however, was homesick, and was longing to see her mother and friends back home. One night, she snuck out to a harbor in search of a ship headed to her home. She then encountered a girl who told Mio that Noxus has invaded her homeland. Shocked, Mio returned to her father and demanded that he send her back to Ionia. With a stern look on his face, the old knight told her that he would gladly send her, once her training was complete. Mio, with no other choice, trained hard every day, in hope of seeing the smiles of her friends back home.
Months later, her father told her that she may return after presenting herself to the King and the Demacian elite guard. Without hesitance, Mio accepted, and upon showing her prowess and resolve, impressed her audience. King Jarvan III himself gave his support for her entry into the League of Legends, under the request that she represent both Demacia and Ionia within the League.
"Truly, an Ionian warrior with the heart of a Demacian, a paragon of both peoples," - King Jarvan Lightshield III
Myosotis strode boldly through the Great Hall, her head held high, as her graceful lady-like stride gave away noble upbringing. Brushing her long vermilion hair off her face, her visage betrayed no signs of doubt, an expression that showed confidence and determination, something the ignorant may pass off as "arrogance". Her armor gleamed, reflecting the sunlight pouring into the hall, plate-mail finely crafted by the blacksmiths of Demacia, and a buckler passed down to her by father. In hand, she held a blade which stuck out from the rest of her equipment, an Ionian sword, kept in an ornate sheath decorated with jades and rubies, the crest of Ionia printed on the hilt.
Her gaze darted to left and right, examining every inch and corner of the Hallway. The architecture and decorations of the hall intrigued her, but nothing seemed to distract her from the large ornate doors before her. She stretched out a hand onto the marble surface, feeling the smooth textures upon the door. Her hand paused as she
noticed the inscription etched upon the door.
The truest opponent lies within.
The sound escaped from her mouth, signifying her displeasure. As questions and doubts filled her head, she merely closed her eyes and erased all thoughts from her head save the one objective she came here for. She opened her eyes, the gleaming sapphire orbs shining with determination, to find that the large doors were open, giving her entry into the Reflection Chamber. Breathing in, Myosotis steps into the looming darkness.
Myosotis waited patiently in the darkness. She was alone in a dark room, unable to analyze her surroundings. She grew nervous, fear and doubt slowly building up in her head, but these soon disappeared as a familiar building materialized in front of her.
Atleast, that is what he calls it. Demacia, the home of Leon D'Lys, the man I hate with a passion, the man who took me away from home.
Myosotis clenched her fists as she stared at the oaken door, biting her lip as she read her father's name etched in gold. With a swift motion, she forced open the door, announcing her presence to her father who stared at her, bewildered.
Her father's open mouth quickly curved into a smile, as he walked up to embrace her. Myosotis held up her hands to push her away, erasing Leon's smile off his face. His bright blue eyes locked with hers, giving a concerned look.
"But... I'm not truly home,"
Her tone was deep, with a sense of anger. Leon understood what she meant, and looked away apologetically. After a brief moment, he looked her in the eye once more.
"What can I do to make it better?"
Myosotis felt mocked. Her father knew what she wanted, she told him a dozen times before, but he had always failed to deliver. Hatred welled up inside her as she began shaking with rage.
"I want you gone! I hate you! All you do is keep me here because you wanted to see your daughter! Well, I'm fine, you can see that, but you still keep me here! You and your soft heart, spoiling me more and more! Why?! Why?! W-"
Before she could continue her tantrum, Myosotis felt a burning pain on her cheek. Falling to her knees, she held her face in her hands.
"What if Irelia could see you now? What if Master Lito could see you now? How do you think they would think of you?"
Myosotis was quiet, save for her heavy breathing.
"Irelia loved her father very much, you know this. And yet you don't show me an ounce of respect,"
The words caused Myosotis' eyes to moisten. What her father said was true, and she had truly forgotten herself. All she thought of was Irelia.
"And yet I still love you. I welcome you with open arms, I provide you a place to sleep at night, I'd do anything to make you happy,"
Leon looked sternly at his daughter, who was now weeping bitterly. He gave a long cold stare, before finally breaking the silence.
"Why do you want to join the League, Myosotis?"
Myosotis dried her eyes and looked up to face her father.
"To protect my friends, my family... and both of my homes, you may not truly be my father, but... I now see what I must truly seek, what is truly important to me, thank you,"
With a smile, Leon handed Myosotis her blade before fading away, leaving Myosotis alone yet again, a large door. Standing up tall, pointed her blade forward, throwing the door open. Drawing a deep breath, she strode forward, into the League.
