There are some misconceptions aboutand its upgrades. I suppose it would be nice to clear those.
Avarice Blade gives 10% critical strike chance and has gold generating passive. There existed 4 upgrades to this:, (both removed), and .
Avarice Blade had been introduced to marksmen in late season 3 and currently both existing items are widely chosen. Similar items (likeand ) are rarely seen.
Avarice Blade gives nice power to early skirmishes due to critical chance. 10% is big value.
But what's really great about that item is passive. Gold generation gives insane chunk of money, with every minute spend and any minion dead. Only trick - keep Avarice!
- Fast upgrade. No, it's good to rush Avarice, but to keep it for some time. For gold. Of course, you upgrade it to have slot for items ( , , boots, wards, potions, first big item) but take your time!
- Stattik and Ghostblade are great! No, Avarice Blade is great, those items are only good enough to keep.
- Start from Zeal. Don't miss Avarice Blade's passive! Phantom Dancer has better battle stats!
- . Youmuu is great item, but it's too popular. In many cases you even want to change Youmuu for another item in late game. Very few champions really use Youmuu to the fullest, and those are not exactly AD carries, but bruisers and assassins like or .
Actually both Avarice items are blindly overused. To use it one must firstly get Avarice and keep it for its passive. After some time, to not waste money you can chose one of its upgrades. Marksmen should buy Youmuu or Stattik after at least one another big item (or ).
Obviously there are exceptions, when rush on one of Avarice Blade's upgrade is deserved (, ). But, in most cases player should think about it more.
