    Farming Etiquette

    September 2, 2011 by CCoville

To be a dick or not to be a dick... that is the question. For the last couple of months I spent most of my time smurfing and learning to play a lot of champs that I never got around to working on. There were a couple things I noticed:

    • no one knows what to do when the tank engages,
    • people complaing about kill-stealing,
    • feeders,
    • at any moment a teammate will come along and completely wipe out a minion wave/jungle camp you had to yourself.

Of course it bothered me but I kept telling myself that these things wouldn't be an issue once I got back to using my level 30 account. Turns out I was only 1/4 right.

This week I realized that, yeah, it's nice to learn how to use new champs against lesser opponents but, at the same time, I am making no headway o…

    Wallowing in Smurfitude

    August 4, 2011 by CCoville

So, once again, it's been a while since I've checked in to the site and did some blogging. Life has been busy lately with work and the fact that the wife and I have a baby on the way. I can only imagine what the kid is going to do to affect my video game time. I still have Fallout New Vegas to beat, Portal 2 to start playing, and a couple of other games to get serious with. Not to mention my obsession with this silly game.

So lately I've been spending a lot of time smurfing. When I came to the realization that there are so many champs that I've never played and that I don't find playing against bots too fulfilling, I decided to get down and dirty and grind out as many previously un-played champs as I can. Because I over-structure everything…

Hey kids. It's been a while since I did one of these here blog posts so I figured I'd toss one out there while I had a minute at work. Level 30's been alright and I think I've adjusted well. I've realized that I have alot to work on with Carry's and that I'm pretty strong as a Tank/Off-Tank/Support. I've also bought my way up to 43 champs.

So what's next? Runes I guess. And I never really realized how expensive these things were until I started trying to build rune pages with tier 3 runes. The worst thing is that I initially thought that Irelia and I would be buddies for life and that I would try to use her for jungling. Therefore, based off of a Stonewall video, I went with an all attack speed rune build. So I went and bought all tier 3 ru…

    Celebration, bitches!

    March 14, 2011 by CCoville

This weekend I finally reached level 30 after playing this game for exactly 6 months. After facing a lot of tough matches while trying out a number of champs (Katarina, Sion, Swain) I decided to just play the guys that I am best with (Irelia, Morgana, Nasus, etc) and get that level thing out of the way.

It doesn't really feel like a big deal. For the past couple of months every time I play I've typically been the only under-30 in the match and it's not like I've been completely outclassed. I am not a great LoL player by any means but I am somewhat competent. My win/loss is only hovering around .500.

So now I am trying to figure out if I want to get involved with ranked matches. I'm really kind of casual in this game and the stress of ranked …

    Tankin' ain't easy

    March 3, 2011 by CCoville

... for me anyway. As anyone who's read my posts will know, I cry like a bitch when the last 1 or 2 people to join a queue will autolock on some squishy DPSer when our team is lacking the beefiness. Because of that I'll pick the champ I want but won't lock until everyone else has done so.

For example, yesterday I only had time for one game and really wanted to get in to it with Irelia considering I wasn't able to use her at all in the last couple weeks. So we're waiting for the last person and they automatically take Ashe and lock in. At that point we already had Tryndamere, Zilean, Ezreal and myself. Why they would think we would need an Ashe is beyond me.

So, I sighed, switched to Rammus and went with it. For the record, we did win, but A…
