Voltaire, the Electrifier, is a champion that I decided to rework because I thought it didn't play the "electricity" role well enough.

Abilities

Electricity
RANGE: 225

Voltaire's basic attacks Electrify enemies for 6 seconds. If Voltaire strikes an Electrified enemy, the enemy will take 15 - 66 (based on level) (+ 10% AP) magic damage and will be Slow icon slowed by 40% for 1.25 seconds, decaying over the duration.

Electrified enemies also create a Static Field around themselves. Voltaire's basic attacks will charge the field, Electrifying all enemies caught within it. Enemies inside the field already Electrified take 17 - 76.5 (based on level) (+ 15% AP) magic damage.

Ability Details
Electricity is an on-hit effect that has an area of effect.

Additional Information:

  • The targeted enemy will also take bonus magic damage, because they are technically inside the Static Field.


Electric Strike
RANGE: 225

Fighter

Passive: Voltaire's basic attacks and Tesla Coil will apply a stack of Augmenting Current to the target. At three stacks, Voltaire will be able to cast Electric Strike on the target. This cannot happen on the same target more than once every few seconds.

Active: Voltaire strikes the target with his electrospear, basic attacking the target and dealing magic damage to all enemies inside the Static Field. The target is then Stun icon stunned for 0.75 seconds. Other enemies hit in the area of effect are Slow icon slowed by 30% for the same duration.

  • Magic damage: 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+ 60% AP)

Afterwards, Voltaire will deal increased magic damage against the targeted enemy for 4 seconds.

  • Damage increase: 8 / 11 / 14 / 17 / 20%

Electric Strike resets Voltaire's attack cooldown.

Ability Details
Electric Strike is an instant, area of effect ability.

Additional Information:

  • Since it is a basic attack, Electric Strike will also apply Electricity's effects.
  • Electric Strike's damage increase will not affect its own damage at the time it was cast.
  • The basic attack portion of this ability can be Counter Strike.png dodged, but the magic damage will still apply.

Passive: Voltaire's basic attacks will grant Voltaire 9 stacks of Voltage. Also, he will gain 1 Voltage stack every 0.5 seconds for each Static Field he is currently in. Upon reaching 90 stacks, his next basic attack will consume the stacks to deal 40 - 125 (based on level) (+ 10% AP) (+ 3% of target's maximum health) magic damage to the target and up to 5 Electrified enemies in a branching attack.

Voltaire occasionally stores a Tesla Coil. He can store up to 3 at once.

Active: Voltaire places a Tesla Coil. If an Electirifed enemy is in range, it will shoot out an electric arc, dealing magic damage every 0.5 seconds to the target. One Tesla Coil can branch to up to 4 other enemies while travelling to the target, dealing 60% damage.

If two Tesla Coils are placed within 500 units of each other, they will connect, creating an electric arc between them that deals separate damage to and Slow icon slows enemies who pass through it by 80% for 2 seconds.

  • Magic damage: 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 40% AP)

This Slow icon slow and damage can only be applied once per pass.

Tesla Coil's passive is an on-hit effect.


Tesla Coil's active places a structure that attacks Electrified enemies.

Additional Information:

  • Tesla Coils are considered pets.
  • Because the animation is instantaneous, it is not considered a projectile for Wind Wall.png Wind Wall or Unbreakable.png Unbreakable.
  • The electric arcs from Tesla Coils find targets who are closest to an invisible line between the target and the Tesla Coil.
    • Tesla Coils also target the furthest targets available.


Shockwave

Fighter

Active: Voltaire releases a shockwave which takes 0.6 seconds to travel to the end of its range, Electrifying all enemies hit. Enemies already Electrified are Slow icon slowed by 30% (+ 5% per 100 AP).

  • Slow duration: 0.5 / 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5

Voltaire will be granted a shield depending on how many Electrified enemy champions were hit. The shield lasts 3 - 0.75 seconds before falling off over a period of time.

Ability Details
Shockwave is an area of effect that applies a debuff and also shields Voltaire.

Additional Information:

  • There is no cap to how much shield Voltaire can have.
  • After 3 - 0.75 seconds, the shield will begin to decay by 10% of the amount of shield available before the decay every 0.3 seconds. This will not change, even if Voltaire takes damage during the decay.
  • The shield duration is decreased by 0.05 seconds per 1% cooldown reduction.


Shock Hazard
RANGE: 600

Passive: Static Fields apply a stronger Slow icon slow.

  • Slow increase: 15 / 20 / 25%

Active: Voltaire channels for 2 seconds before releasing 3 electric pulses, with one every 1.2 seconds. Each pulse will deal magic damage to enemies caught in it.

  • Magic damage per pulse: 110 / 155 / 200 (+ 45 / 50 / 55% AP)

If a pulse hits an Electrified enemy champion, they will create a smaller shockwave of their own, dealing damage to enemies in a 300-unit radius. This smaller shockwave will Electrify opponents. Subsequent mini pulses will only deal 75% damage, capping at 6 reductions.

When Shock Hazard is active, Voltaire will not be able to move or cast abilities or basic attacks. However, he is immune to crowd control effects.

Shock Hazard's passive increases the effectiveness of Electrified.


Shock Hazard's active is an area of effect damaging ability that deals damage in waves and causes Electrified enemies to emit shockwaves of their own.

Additional Information:

  • Shock Hazard's passive Slow icon slow strength increase is additive.
  • When Shock Hazard is active, Voltaire will be able to put himself into Stasis icon stasis. However, this will not cancel Shock Hazard.
