Greetings fellow summoners,
Recently I did a champion rework on Twitch that completely removed his current identity from the game. What I was actually doing was making some sense of things for myself, things that just didn't add up. I would like to make amends for my mistake by at least making clear what my actual issue is.
There's a lot of different types of Marksmen out there, you have the hyper mobile poke champions, e.g., Ezreal, Lucian & Quinn. Then you have the long range semi-mobile types, e.g., Corki, Caitlyn & Tristana. There's all-in beasts, e.g., Draven, Vayne & Kog'Maw that sort of have to keep going in order to win. You have ranged turrets, e.g., Ashe & Jinx. And then there are AoE champions, my focus of this post: " Miss Fortune", " Twitch" & " Varus".
These three are similar in many ways, and the role they fulfill is about equal. They are the architects of mass damage devastation that can change the outcome of en entire team fight in just one ultimate ability. They also have a personal general theme to them: MF;Multiple bullets, Twitch;Poison, Varus;Corruption. All of these themes are expressed in different ways, all of them have an on-hit ability that they use as a base for that general theme.
|Champion||ASPD Boost||AoE Slow||Main Damage||Mark System|
|MF||Impure Shots||Make It Rain||Double Up||Impure Shots|
|Twitch||Ambush||Venom Cask||Expunge||Deadly Venom|
|Varus||Living Vengeance||Hail of Arrows||Piercing Arrow||Blighted Quiver|
Similar as they are, not all are created equal. The table neatly lines up their skills excluding their ultimate abilities, but there are 2 things bugging me here and they are both about Twitch. Because when I look at the AoE Slow field, I'm bugged by the fact that both Make It Rain and Hail of Arrows get a base damage and damage scaling while Venom Cask does not. You could argue that it applies 2 stacks of Deadly Venom and that those deal damage. But that doesn't really fly, seeing as that damage comes from his passive and both MF and Varus get a bonus effect that ties into their theme too.
The second thing that bothers me is that across the table you have two instances of Grievous Wounds: Varus;Hail of Arrows & MF;Impure Shots. However the champion that is based around poison, surprise and assassination doesn't get that 50% regeneration reduction at all. The visually and thematically (imho) obvious champion to put grievous wounds on doesn't get it, and that bugs me.
Give my beloved Twitch a little love by making 2 small changes to his kit:
Thank you for reading thus far,
