Trynde wields a special magical sword, allowing him to refresh himself with every strike. His basic attacks refund 10 energy. Although Trynde can cast Swift Strike and Wind Slash when out of energy, the power of both abilities scales with his current energy. Trynde also ignores unit collision.

Active: Trynde's next basic attack deals additional physical damage. If this attack critically strikes, Trynde gains 40 energy and the cooldown of Swift Strike is reduced to 1 second. This ability deals additional damage based on the amount of energy consumed.

Trynde send out a 90 degree cone that deals magic damage to enemies struck by the ability. If this ability only strikes one enemy, this ability deals additional physical damage to the nearest enemy struck. If Trynde secures a kill on an enemy champion, the cooldown on Wind Slash is refreshed (assists reduce the cooldown by half its base cooldown). Enemies struck by this ability are slowed for 2 seconds by an amount based on how much energy was consumed by this ability.

Lore: Trynde is an additional soldier sent by Noxous during the invasion of the Southern Ionia providence. Once he began witnessing Singed's poison strike, he ran away from the battlefield and instead started sabotaging nearby villages in an attempt to plunder their valuables. Upon returning to the battlefield, he saw the effects of the poison attack and immediately found hatred to Zaun and Noxus. In order to sail back to the continent of Valoran safely, he was forced to bury most of his ill-gotten loot so as to avoid any suspicion. Once he arrived at Runeterra, Trynde quickly made his way to the Plague Jungles so that he can further train his combat abilities away from civilization. While at the Plague Jungles, he found a source magical energy that transformed himself into a spectral being with new powers. His new powers allowed him to drastically improve his combat abilities, particularly his ability to summon the powers of the winds. Once his transformation was complete, Trynde turned himself into the Institute of War in order to defeat various champions that represent Noxus and Zaun.
