Niam, the Wandering Mage, is a champion who embodies what Xerath SHOULD have been. A siege tank. He has low cooldown spells, and his ultimate is a toggle which trades mobility for range. Unlike Xerath's old W, his ultimate has a significant deactivation time, during which he cannot move. Two of his abilities have travel times, so although his maximum range is 4000, hitting them at such a range would be very difficult. Their cooldowns are low to compensate.

Heightened Senses

Niam is accompanied by an Owl. The Owl follows behind him, providing vision of a 800 radius area around it. The Owl can be controlled and can move up to 1000 / 2000 / 3000 / 4000 units away. The Owl moves at a speed of 425 and has 3 health, taking one damage from any source. If killed, it will regenerate at Niam's location when it's cooldown completes.


Crystal Growth

Energize

Active: After a short delay, a large crystal grows at the target location, dealing damage and knocking any enemies within it away. The crystal grants vision around it's location and crumbles after six seconds.

Arcane Orb

Shocking Orb

Active: Niam creates and launches an orb of magical energy, which flies towards a target location at 1500 units per second. Upon landing, it explodes violently, damaging all enemy units in the area and charging the ground for several seconds. Enemies walking over charged ground are slowed by 20% and have their Armor and Magic Resist reduced by a percentage.

Lightning Bolt

Arcanopulse

Active: Niam fires a bolt of energy, dealing damage to the first enemy unit hit. The bolt's speed increases from 600 to 3000 over the first 1000 units it travels. Lightning bolt can be fired one additional time at no extra cost.

Mage Chains

Toggle:Niam channels for one second and raises up into the air, rooting himself in place and draining mana per second to gain massive bonus range on all of his spells. During this time, the mana costs on his other spells are halved, and his autoattacks are disabled. Ascension can be ended by reactivating the ability again, at which point Niam will end the ability, taking a full second to do so.
