I find Dominion is excellent for quick, fun games that still have that League atmosphere. One of my favorite parts about it is that it is still very possible for a team to come back and win even when their nexus is down to its last few points, which is essentially impossible in Classic.

I tend to try unorthodox strategies in Dominion, since it's not something that should really be taken that seriously. I enjoy winning, however, so I wonder what people find to be useful in terms of builds and summoner spells.

My first question is the most obvious. Is Garrison.png Garrison worth it? I never take it, since I almost never see turrets actually firing shots. I usually run Ghost.png Ghost and Exhaust.png Exhaust, since I am of the belief that Dominion is primarily a speed game. Yes, every team needs one or two people focused on actually battling, since your team as a whole is a lot more effective with fewer enemies running around and disrupting you. I am not one of them, since I have more fun running everywhere and capturing or disrupting captures, and with the latter, I just hold them off long enough for the nearest allied attacker to come to me and blast them off the point.

What are some efficient starting builds? Depending on my champion, I either go straight for Boots of Swiftness item.png Boots of Swiftness or start with regular boots and a Kage's Lucky Pick item.png Kage's Lucky Pick. I then just go mostly for recommended items from there, based entirely on that game's situation - there's almost nothing concrete about Dominion builds, from my experience.

And finally, who really shines? I often go for Anivia Anivia, Morgana Morgana, and Veigar Veigar, since slows and stuns are vastly underappreciated on Dominion. I also occasionally play Ahri Ahri, Cho'Gath Cho'Gath, and Malzahar Malzahar, since they're never terrible.
