Xel'Naar has two forms: Base, mobile DRONE form, and the OVERMIND form. When Xel'Naar stands still for 1.5s, he enters the Overmind Form, gaining new abilities and becoming the main BEACON, emitting a signal that determines his spells' range.

Allied champions in the BEACON range become secondary BEACONS, emitting the signal further at 25% of the main one's range around themselves, expanding up to 50% over next 2s. This effect can be chained indefinitely. The signal range is visible to the enemy team around all the visible BEACONS.

The signal range scales up with ultimate's level. Ability-inhibiting crowd control disables the Overmind Form.

Xel'Naar sprays out a cloud of pheromones in a cone and jumps 300 units in the opposite direction, also leaving a stream of pheromone in a line behind. The pheromone cloud lingers for 4s, affecting both allies and enemies.

Enemies receive magic damage over time based on % of their current HP and are slowed by 10%, increased to 25% if they are going towards Xel'Naar or his pheromone-affected allied champions. Allies get a movement speed boost and heal themselves for % of the damage they deal to pheromone-affected enemies.

The pheromone effect refreshes as long as the unit stays in the cloud and lingers on them for 2s after they get out.

Xel'Naar targets an enemy unit, creating a circular zone around them, expanding up to twice the size over 3 seconds. Upon reactivation (min 1.5s charge time) or after 5s, Xel'Naar and all BEACONS in the ability radius emit a beam of mental energy towards the target, dealing magic damage and stunning the target, the power of those effects scales with number of BEACONS involved. With at least 2 additional BEACONS, all participants also receive a shield lasting 2s.

Xel'Naar targets an area, sending out a slowly moving, but invisible to enemies, pulse of energy underground, which travels to the target area through the signal range zone (NOT in a straight line!).

After arriving at the target zone, the pulse bursts out after a telegraphed delay [0.75s(+0.15s per BEACON passed) > MAX 1.35s], dealing magic damage and silencing enemies. For each BEACON the pulse passes along the way (meaning: travels through their signal zone),

it grows in speed and strenght, increasing damage, silence duration and area of effect.

Xel'Naar and all his BEACONS send out waves scaning their respective signal zones. Enemies hit by a wave become Bio-marked and slowed for 3s.

Enemies hit by multiple overlaping waves have the Bio-mark duration extended and slow power increased.

Bio-Marked enemies leave traces on the ground (NOTE: like from Nocturne Q, but differently colored), and if they receive any damage from Xel'Naar or any of the BEACONS, they are completely revealed for the rest of the duration.

Stealth champions cannot be revealed, but still leave traces.

  • Bio-Mark Duration: 3s (+1s per additional wave hit) > MAX 7s
  • Slow: 20% (+5% per additional wave hit) > MAX 40%

Okay, you may ask WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SH*T. And i answer: i was bored and challenged myself: think up a character from other MOBA game that seems completely incompatible with LoL gameplay formula, and try to bring it to a playable(?) level. My choice was Abathur from Heroes of the Storm. How to make a champ that can pretty much camp at base possible in LoL? Ultimately, i gave up on the complete global presence and focused on a theme kinda similar, but slightly different at the same time: a "parasitic" champions using his allies as "proxies" for his spells. Yeah, we have a bit of that already (like Taric's W), but how about we get it on a completely another level? I decided to go with a bee- or ant-like idea of "Hive Mind", where all of the elements function as one, with a central figure (Queen Ant/Bee and Xel'Naar) controling that structure. And yeah, you can probably see a few Starcraft references here and there :D

Well, theme aside, what champion is this supposed to be? What would be its role? Here's the thing: While Xel could be extremely deadly in a right scenario, he always need his team to protect that immobile, squishy turret that he becomes in the Overmind Mode, and to proxy his spells onto the enemy team. Thus, he would be unable to go for a solo lane, right? And from the start i didn't intend to make him a solo laner, but a support or jungler. The final shape of his abilities would probably not work in the jungle, so he would be something that starts out as a poke/cc support but becomes a semi-carry artillery in the later phases of the game. I figured out that a generic utility/support spells would be kinda boring and waste the potential of this theme, so i went with more "aggresive" type.

He is supposed to be hella squishy, not fit to go face-to-face with enemy champs, although his Drone form gives him a few tools that make him not completely helpless should someone get onto him, but they are not meant to encourage him into jumping into the fray himself.

What do you think? Feel free to bash me all you want, i know this would probably be either utter crap or broken as hell, depending on the exact numbers. Anyway, bring it on with the opinions :V
