When Zyra transferred her consciousness into her human form, she thought her plant body had shriveled and died. As she turned and walked away on her human legs, she did not look back to see that the tangle of vines she left behind was weakened but still very much alive.
It took a long time for the being to regain its former might, but it was helped along the way by a young blonde explorer who, chancing upon his brown and dying tendrils, saw fit to give the plant water, and as he explored the Plague Jungles, he returned to tend to his pet plant. Demeaning as it was, it owed everything to this human, and it would not forget the kindnesses given to it.
When it had regained its physical strength, it started to reform its consciousness from the ground below it - choosing the name of Bract for itself. This new source of intelligence allowed it to learn the art of uprooting itself from its one location and traversing the land, only stopping to sap the ground of its nutrients. Once it had its independence from the soil, it set out to reunite with the woman who had abandoned it, though to what avail, it did not yet know.
