Volatile Energy
ZPPHR VolatileEnergy

Innate: Dealing damage with abilities apply ZPPHR VolatileEnergy Volatile Energy to targets for 6 seconds. Further damage refreshes its duration and stores 15% of the damage dealt, up to 30 + [15 × level]. Upon expiring, ZPPHR VolatileEnergy Volatile Energy deals magic damage equal to the amount stored plus a random amount between 2% - 10% of Lyle's maximum mana.

Ability Details
Volatile Energy is a spell effect and debuff that detonates after its duration.

Additional Information:

  • Volatile Energy can only be applied first by Lyle's abilities.
    • Further damage stored is affected by every instance of damage from abilities as well as auto-attacks, summoner spells and item actives.
    • ZPPHR VolatileEnergy Volatile Energy can be removed by Cleanse.png Cleanse.
  • Volatile Energy stores damage per tick from ZPPHR PowerBurst Power Burst's damage over time.
  • Volatile Energy stores damage per hit from ZPPHR IonicSynapse Ionic Synapse.

Passive: Lyle permanently increases his maximum mana whenever he kills a unit (doubled against champions) with either his attacks or abilities.

Active: Marks the target 250-radius area which after a short delay bursts with energy. Enemies inside the area are slowed by 40%, dealt magic damage at first and every second for 4 seconds. Power Burst also slows targets by 60% which decreases over its duration.

Power Burst's passive increases Lyle's maximum mana on kill.

Additional Information:

  • Power Burst's damage over time debuff is called ZPPHR PowerBurst Power Burst.
    • Being a debuff, it can be removed by Cleanse.png Cleanse.
  • Power Burst's mana increase can be triggered by killing an enemy unit with any of Lyle's damage sources, including auto-attacks, champion abilities, summoner spells and item actives.
  • Power Burst briefly grants standard sight in the area, after its delay.

Active: Hurls a ball of pulsating energy at target enemy. The ball deals magic damage on impact and bounces rapidly from enemy to enemy 6 times (7 hits total). Every time it deals damage, Lyle is shielded for 3 seconds. Ionic Synapse will attempt to jump to enemies damaged by ZPPHR PowerBurst Power Burst within range (prioritizing champions).

  • Magic Damage: 50 / 65 / 80 / 95 / 110 (+ 2% max mana)
  • Maximum Magic Damage to a Single Target: 200 / 260 / 320 / 380 / 440 (+ 8% max mana)
  • Shield per Strike: 10 / 18 / 26 / 34 / 42 (+ 4% AP)
Ability Details
Ionic Synapse is a chain area of effect ability.

Additional Information:

  • Ionic Synapse randomly targets nearby enemies.
    • Prioritizes champions and other enemies being damaged by ZPPHR PowerBurst Power Burst.
  • Ionic Synapse can bounce to targets in the Fog of War.
  • Ionic Synapse cannot bounce to stealthed units.


Discharge

ZPPHR Discharge

Passive: During Discharge's cool-down, ZPPHR VolatileEnergy Volatile Energy restores mana by half the damage it deals.

Active: For the next 16 seconds, Lyle spends 10% of his current mana every second to deal damage around him equal to 40 plus twice the mana drained. Discharge can be reactivated to cancel the effect prematurely.

During this time, the damage cap from ZPPHR VolatileEnergy Volatile Energy is doubled and will store an increased portion of Lyle's damage dealt.

Ability Details
Discharge's active is a self-targeted point blank area of effect ability.
Discharge's passive is a self-buff that only works during cool-down.

Additional Information:

  • Discharge has no cast time and does not interrupt Lyle's previous orders.
  • Discharge cannot bring Lyle under 30% of his maximum mana.
    • The effect will end upon reaching this threshold.
  • Discharge's cool-down will start at the end of its effects.


Background

This is my fourth custom champion concept. I've been working on it since 2013, trying to find a way to make a champion use mana like more than just a resource. I'm very fond with mages from World of Warcraft and LoL, as well as supports, and I love having lots of mana. Ryze Ryze and Kassadin Kassadin are the only ones whose abilities scale directly with their maximum mana (and I really like that concept), so this is my mana-based champion. I'm open up for feedback and critics. Hope you guys like it.

  • ZPPHR PowerShield Power Shield (innate): Lyle has a shield that drains mana whenever he takes damage. When his mana depletes completely, his mana regeneration decreases when in combat.
  • ZPPHR ResonatingBlast Resonating Blast: Lyle sends out a long range energy blast in a line, dealing damage and stunning for a short duration.
  • ZPPHR ManaSurge Mana Surge: Lyle increases his maximum mana upon killing an enemy. When activated, his shield detonates to deal damage to enemies around him, doing so leaves him vulnerable.
  • ZPPHR IonicSynapse Ionic Synapse: Lyle throws a ball of energy to a target dealing magic damage, and bounces up to 5 enemies. Then the ball returns to restore mana.
  • ZPPHR Discharge Overcharge (ultimate): Lyle empowers his abilities for a short time.
    • Power Shield - Absorbs twice the damage per mana drained.
    • Resonating Blast - Increases its range.
    • Mana Surge - Scoring an assist increases mana, and killing a champion doubles the bonus.
    • Ionic Synapse - The ball heals Lyle when returning to him.
