Strategy Edit

It is a popular item for ranged carries, such as Ashe or Tristana. Combining it with Doran's Blade allows champions to stay in lanes for extended periods of time without needing to go back to base to heal. Doran's Blade is often the preferred item as it also adds health, but it has the drawback of not building into anything. Vampiric Scepter is not limited in that regard, and can be built into several legendary and mythical items.
