Zeke's Herald is a legendary item in League of Legends.[1] It was formerly known as Stark's Fervor before being remade/renamed.

TriviaEdit

  • Zeke's Herald is named after a character from the webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del as a reward for the creator Tim Buckley gaining over 1000 referrals.

Patch historyEdit

V1.0.0.133: Remade/renamed

V1.0.0.94(b):

  • Clones will no longer grant a double bonus to the aura holder. Clones with aura items otherwise interact the same with other champions.

V1.0.0.87:

  • Now stacks the personal applying Aura buff with an allied champion's Stark's Fervor.

V1.0.0.82:

  • Attack speed aura reduced to 20% from 25%.
  • Armor reduction aura reduced to 20 from 25.

V0.8.22.115:

  • Fixed a bug which caused the aura to not apply to owner.

June 12, 2009 Patch:

  • Added an additional 20% attack speed.

  • Volibear needs all the stats. Maybe Olaf, but there are better things to build on Olaf.

  • I enjoy building this on my support especially when I see the enemy is going for a frozen heart to nerf my carry. GG canceling your frozen heart debuff.

  • Isn't the drawing inside the red dot the Deathfire Grasp's skull?

  • Am I the only one who likes this item? Someone?

  • I miss the old starks :(

  • Why didn't they just remove the AS/regen/LS aura on Stark's while keeping the Arpen aura, and then create a new item? Riot really hates armor pen, first SoTD, then this, what next? Brutalizer?

  • They should of left it the fuck alone.

  • I miss Stark's Fevor. =(

  • I've been using this item on Wukong and I think it fits him...but only because I use ghostlblade as well, giving me 30% cooldown (No cooldown boots). I mean sure it would be easier to go bloodthrister and I'd sustain myself well but since I can pretty much do QWE way faster than the average Wukong and EVERYONE in the group is getting extra lifesteal I find that we win most of the fights anyway. (Plus if they go bad I can decoy out and live anyway..)

  • this "rework" was about the same as if they took deathcap, removed the bonus 30% bonus AP and made it 400 gold cheaper

  • Shitty excuse of an item

Just cuz it had an aura doesnt mean it had to be a support item

  • Shit item.

  • Number wise, Stark's was way too good, this item isn't as good but is balanced (i.e. at least breaks even for it's price).

+20% atk spd and +12% life steal is like a free dagger and vampiric scepter for each person on your team (over 880 gold per ally). So the aura alone is already worth up to 4400 gold (of course stark's was better).

    • Stark's had a major disadvantage - it alerted enemy champs to your presence. That was a significant drawback to ganking or sneaking anywhere. That made up for the price easily.

    • the champs who bought starks either possessed greater MS (Master yi with highlander) or some type of gap closer plus a slow to make the alert largely irrelevant.

  • I really hate this item.

unlike stark's, it gives too little of anything you'd actually want (except CDR). Zeke's is a shadow of it's former self.

it's clear that Riot's adgenda in changing this item was not only to "give supports a new item", but to nerf bruisers.

  • Can we get an actual Stark's page? Stark's wasn't 'remade' into Zeke's, it was removed and Zeke's added. I was just thinking, 'wow, i forget the actual numbers on Stark's. Let's check the Wiki.' but no, only this page.

    • You can watch the history of Stark's page and select a version before it was changed to redirect. Gotta admit. that's a bit too complicated.

    • Starks was 20 armor reduction aura, 30 HP/5 aura, 20% life steal aura, 20% attack speed aura and the only nonaura component was 20% attack speed for the owner (for 40% total).

It was way better than this shit. STARKS NEVER FORGET

  • Needs an active or some shit.

  • Looks like a good item for shen.

attack speed, heath, cdr which is helpful for his ult (and which is hard to get on a manaless champ) and it helps his team a decent amount

  • This is worse than the sunfire nerf, at least that item is still worth getting on some champions.

Was starks really so OP that they had to essentially remove it from the game? What the hell was Riot thinking?

    • Stark's was taken on a select few champions. Yi, Tryndamere, and Shaco. The reason why they bought starks is because it was a solid ganking item early/mid game and allowed them to start in the jungle with a vamp scepter without needing to wait to upgrade it to BT.

If you were buying Stark's on anyone else aside from these champs, you were doing it wrong. Mundo? Olaf? Wrong, not tanky enough. Ranged AD carry? Wrong, scales poorly into late game.

It was both too strong for a small subset of champions (squishy AD jungler carries/assassins) while being too weak for the intended target buyer (supports).

People hated Shurelia's Reverie for a long time before it became more popular. It eventually became a core item for not only all suports, but for many tanks and tanky dps as well. While I don't think this item is perfect as is, I think it's much more useful for its intended target buyer than Stark's.

  • Dammit I really liked the new name until I found out that it was Tim Buckley who made it >_<

  • I think I have to like this Item, but... I don't know... maybe it's the price. Every single stat is nice for any AD Champion, and all that in one slot, but it seems that I invest over 2k Gold and get... a little overall buff for it. Is it worth it's Gold if there was no aura effect?

    • This item is worthless. It's not worth the gold with the aura effect so why would it be worth the gold without it?

There's a reason you never see this item in high ELO or tournament play. Might as well just collect 2k gold and not spend it. Get approximately the same effect.

    • They did ruin this item completely, but that's a ridiculous exaggeration.

    • Sad thing is its not far from the truth.

  • Starks was amazing for champs that needed AS and LS. Now it does half of both (for the holder).

Zeke's is one of the very weakest support items. Aegis, SR, Randiun's, FH, are all MUCH better.

The nerf really hurts the item options of alot of junglers/tanky dps. i loved going Wiggles -> starks. Now most junglers/tanky dps are forced to take Wit's End as their AS item.

  • Starks was better. With the aura cut in half supports still don't want this item and now Olaf is out of one of his core items.

  • Now it's a bit less worthless. A bit, but still.

  • I want Stark's back, this one doesn't fit into my nasus/sion build. Too little AS, and the Armor Reduction was awesome. They could make a Stark's fervor with no aura (except for Armor reduction). Perhaps like this: Costs: Recursive Bow + Vampiric scpepter + recipe around 600-900 Gives: 45% AS, 12-15% Lifesteal, reduces enemy armor by 20-25 (in a range of 1000)

  • I admire Ctrl+Alt+Del for lasting so long without being either funny or interesting
